Ever flunk a class in college?

No. Lowest grade I've ever gotten in a class was a C, and that's only happened two or possibly three times.

<knock on wood> Not yet...in fact, since starting community college in January 2007, the LOWEST grade've gotten is a "B""...in basic keyboarding...
I can type 70 or more wpm with minimal errors, (IIRC, at 70 wpm I was allowed 5 errors in a 5 minute typing test and I had 2) but because I've either broken or jammed every finger on both hands at least once...I can't make some of the reaches that are taught for "proper typing technique." So...I got a "B." :roll:

Yes. I was in my first semester grad school and extremely overloaded. I was taking 15 semester hours of courses, putting in about 20 hours a week as a grad assistant (teaching, grading, computer lab), and working 25-30 hours a week outside of the university.

I was in the middle of studying for my first exam in a difficult class and decided "fuck it all", and that I wasn't going to get my Master's. I knew that class was going to be a bear no matter what, so I didn't show up for the exam and never went back to class. It was a week to late to withdraw.

20 years later, I don't regret it a bit. I did well in my other 4 classes that semester and have never had the need for anything I would have learned in that class.

Advanced math is not my strong suit. Failed Chemistry and Calculus both 3 times. Worked my ass off each time, but it was just not meant to be. Luckily, I wasn't dead set in my major, picked something better, and graduated with a 3.8 in my major, but I think it was a 2.2 overall... : /

Life goes on. Got the diploma and that's all most companies look for.

Never failed any classes here. But I did go to a pretty easy CSU. But that was fine with me Worst I got was a C+ in Calc II freshman year I think. Man that class sucked... 5 days a week, homework every day.

Yea failed one when I missed the final, I retook it online during the summer and got an A. Overall if your other grades are ok, the F won't kill your GPA to much...

Failed calc in my second year of college, then took a look at all the other math classes that I needed for a CS major. Figured no way in hell so I switched to the tech college, graduated there and haven't looked back since. Thank god I failed that calc class!

Failed (got a D, and in engineering, D does not stand for diploma), 2 classes in non consecutive semesters. Differential equations(Sophomore year) and Electromagnetic Theory(Junior year). I retook both the next semester and passed. Still graduated in 5 years. Hooray engineering. And to be fair about Emag, our teacher said at the beginning of the semester that she typically fails ~60% of the class. She did cuz there were a lot of familiar faces the next semester.

I Failed a bunch of classes my first and second year at a traditional community college so I tried ITT Tech. I failed there as well (and spent a lot of money) and decided that formal schooling wasn't for me. Currently the only outside income is from working shitty retail or fast-food jobs.

I failed differential calc the first time through, in first year. I just took it again in the Summer and it was like I never failed it. No big whoop.

I think if I hadn't taken so many credits my first two semesters I would not have failed that class.

Oh and I hate calculus.

There is an F and a W on my transcript from '91. Funny thing is, this is my first year at this school.

Not the first time my name has been mixed up with my other half though, he got my license suspended in '97 when he didn't pay his child support. I got a letter from the DA's office notifying me, so of course I went down there right away. (I was working as a paramedic at the time, kind of needed my license.)

After all my pleading, and the DA's "Yeah, right", we finally called the mother. She described somebody totally different than me and the DA had to give me an apology letter and reinstate my license.

That letter sits in my safe for just such occasions, and will be used AGAIN for these classes. (Oh yeah, and there is a half unit CCW class on my transcript as well, I was living in Vegas at the time.)

Yes. I took a C++ class as a filler to meet the minimum credit hours to stay on student aid/insurance because I knew C++ and wouldn't have a hard time with it.

The teacher elected to teach other programming languages instead and in the last couple weeks of the course I more or less abandoned it in favor of getting other projects done.

I took the final and all but I missed a couple of projects that ended up making my grade suffer just enough to fail me. I'm fine with that though, because I got A's in the rest of my classes.

I BOMBED a semester ... failed Trig and Discrete Math ... did poorly in Chem ...

Basically when I got behind, I mentally checked out. I changed my major, realized the math and science wasn't for me. I excelled in my new major and got 4.0 a few times.

I find myself daydreaming once or twice a year about going back and really applying myself to those courses if I would latch on differently now.

my first year of uni, i only passed 3/5 classes. i failed my Natural Science elective and some other course i can't even remember.

the next year i was forced to stay home from school and i worked for 16 months in a factory on the midnight shift.

i was so "inspired" not to end up in a factory for the rest of my life that i went back to university and got straight As my first year back. the next 2 years, i averaged a B- and got out of there with a Bachelor's degree.

a little dose of reality and perspective was all that i required to get down to business.

An F is not the end of your life. I fucked up majorly my second year at college due to various financial and personal problems. Finished with a 1.7 gpa, academic probation, and then dropped out. Worked for a year (retail, ugh), then did a year at a local community college, then did my last 2 years at a state university, with close to a 4.0. Worked for a few years at a law firm, then went to law school. Thought my life was over at 19 because of my grades but that's just not how it works if you care to improve. Figure out where you went wrong and fix it, then move on and commit to do better.

Learning to know what classes to avoid helps too. I started non-western humanities last year because I thought that I had to take it. It's the type of class that I'd fail even when trying hard so I dropped it in the first week and plan on taking a film study class which meets the same requirement.

I dropped Principles of Accounting during my second year of college. I thought it was too difficult and dropped it within two weeks. At the time, I was a Business Admin major.

It's funny that I ended up majoring in Accounting. Now I'm in grad school for accounting, and I just got an A on an accounting Midterm.

I did alright my first two semesters of college, but in my third one I failed two classes and got a D in a third. After that, I switched majors and my semester GPA never went below 3.0 after that (and stayed above 3.5 most of the time).
