You consider UCLA a good school??? ;)

<--- Went to USC

I can get into USC if I was rich. :(

Have you applied for financial aid?

Soon enough. I don't think my parents wants me to go to USC though.

What schools are on your list, and how are your grades/test scores?

LA, Riverside, Santa Barbara, Davis, Irvine. My GPA is around 3.3 and SAT score 1200.

Are you only considering UC schools because of cost, or some other reason? I don't know much about the admissions requirements for those schools, but you should be able to get into a pretty good school with your 1200 SAT score.

Thanks. I want to stay close to my family, but I really want to go to Boston University or NYU, but no chance in hell will my parents let me go there. Oh well. :(

Seriously though, you're better off not going to school on the east coast if you live in California. You'd really hate travelling that far for breaks and stuff, and obviously you couldn't drive so it would be way more expensive to go home. Not to mention the hassle of getting all of your stuff there and back. I went to school 10 hours away by car, I wouldn't recommend going much farther than 12-14 hours away (by car). I also wouldn't recommend going to school less than 2 hours away, or you'll be too tempted to go home all the time.

Edit: Not to mention Californians stick out like a sore thumb here :)
