and you'll end up somewhere unhappy like your safety choice? All my friends are so smart, I bet they will all get into Berkeley and LA. :( :( :(

Ever feel jealous of your friends academic success? I bet I will lose contact with them and they will make new friends and stuff like that.

dont sweat it. it really doesnt matter. i went to one of the best schools in my high school class but four years later it doesnt matter because some people who went to the state school ended up at ivy med/law schools. where you start out doesnt matter. where you end up does.

Yea, basically the friends that I really care about are going to the same school as me. They are the people that mean the most to me, not the others that go to other schools. There are only two people who go to two different schools than me, but I've known them forever and we are like brothers. We also talk a couple times a day.

Purdue. Not the best school in the world, but definitely not the worst. Especially for technology related majors.

Very few things annoy me more about these forums than when someone responds to a thread like this by bragging. This is the second response I saw like this today, the other one was some kid responding to a thread asking for help with a pre-calc problem by saying "that's an easy problem" then going on to say that he taught himself calculus rather than helping the guy with his problem.

What goes through people's heads when they post stuff like this?

The exact thing that went through my head is, "why the heck should I care. It doesn't make that much of a difference where you go as long as it isn't some place where you send them $25 and they send you a piece of paper."

I'm sorry that you feel slighted in life.

My brothers best friend Paul, is going to Yale. I had a class with him senior year and the kid is a freaking genious. He got a 1600 on his SAT I's and II's and a 4.0 in all AP classes in H.S. You can't help to be jealous, but he deserves everything that will come to him later in life. And and btw, his dad IS going to be the president in 2004. I get first dibs on neffing from the white house.

DEAN IN 2004! :p

So you thought one thing and posted another - how'd you get from point A to point B?

I'm sorry that you feel slighted in life.

I don't. Some of the cocky pr|cks on this forum just piss me off.

Edit: It seems bubbadu has outdone you...

I've worked very hard to get where I am in life and I feel good about it. It's not like I posted "I'm mad cuz my dad won't buy me a 745iL. I don't understand why not, cuz we're rich and I think I should live a rich life".

Speaking of pr|cks...

This guy is posting about being afraid of not getting into the school he wants. Posting that you got into a better school than all of your friends (which is pretty unimpressive considering your state has one of the worst education systems in the country) does NOT help him feel better, it could very well have made him feel WORSE.

How do you know what state I come from? It apparently didn't occur to you that perhaps I'm actually from a different state than the one I go to school in. How on earth would what I said make him feel worse? Did I ever compare him to my friends? Do you know any of my friends? Please, feel free to make broad assumptions. He asked a question and I answered it.

I was going by your profile.

He seemed to be looking for sympathy to me... But I could be wrong.

You consider UCLA a good school??? ;)

<--- Went to USC

I can get into USC if I was rich. :(

Have you applied for financial aid?

Soon enough. I don't think my parents wants me to go to USC though.

What schools are on your list, and how are your grades/test scores?
