If you want to alleviate your fear some, go read or listen to some lectures on history. Everything has been much much worse before than it is now, and also no one has ever successfully predicted the future on any meaningful time scale. That means your video can't, you can't, I can't, no matter how grim (or bright) it seems. People have been predicting this or that dystopia for centuries, but then people make history, and all predictions become shit - the USSR falls, Lincoln is assassinated, weather makes a battle go one way instead of another, a charismatic leader organized farm workers, a new invention makes communication infinitely faster and easier.

As citizens we can only vote according to what we predict will be the results, but don't fool yourself into thinking we actually know what the results will be or can entirely steer the country.

Lolololol, this guy really nailed this evil conspiracy, to install benevolent dictators like Walter Mondale! D: :awe: D:

After Mondale took over, the Marxist-Leninists would come to power and line up all the liberals and shoot them! How did he know? HOW???

There are plenty of political trends to be apprehensive, if not scared about. The idiot paranoid rant of this bozo isn't one of them, though.

I am with Berz here, in WW2 we were literally the last holdout of liberal democracy.

Granted, if we had someone like FDR as a leader calling these thieves and big business propagandists, fascists, and predatory capitalists out to the average working man I would be a little less concerned.

Dunno, who knows what the future holds, it's up to us though. Keep reading, and don't fall for false revolutions, there are far too many BSers using dangerous terms like "Liberty and "duty" around lightly to be apathetic. This crap never turns out well, but it's not the end (unless someone mashes the big red one)

-But that has been a risk all of our lifetimes.

Carry on, do your thing, and if you think the system sucks, work on yourself first.

Legitimate change comes from individuals making a difference.

This is the key to many different peoples ideas of liberty coming together into a cohesive sustainable future imo.

If there is a better way, someone let the world know. And soon considering the stakes nowadays.

Wow OP, you want to allow a police state?

We need the people to man up and drop the snitches get stitches mentality.

Witness crimes, report them especially those involving bodily harm and property loss.
What are you talking about? This doesn't even make sense. People just make shit up and we're all supposed to believe it. Weak.

Typical. Deny and insult. Do you deny that our country has built FEMA camps, which came supplied with stacks of plastic coffins, and built them along railroad lines?

This episode was aired once and then banned and now only lives on Youtube:

Wake up America.

And from a moderator, no less.

Do you also deny that the Batman shooter's dad, Robert Holmes, is a senior scientist for FICO that was set to testify against many of the wealthy elites and was thought to be willing to name names?
http://uswebdaily.com/news2/colorado-shooters-father-is-senior-scientist-for-ficoset-to-testify-before-congress-in-libor-hearings

Do your homework people, quit accepting the shit they're feeding you and don't be afraid of douchebags like Perknose trying to silence you through ridicule.

Uh... what?

First off, that video means nothing. By his time scale we should have come to crisis and be a full-blown Communist state by now. And how are we in stage 3? Stage 1 is subverting education by getting to kids and educating them on socialism/communism without any challenge from American ideals... that happened? I was a 90s kid, went to public school in a fairly liberal area, and all I remember is the glorification of American ideals. The founding fathers were heroes and the Declaration of Independence/Constitution were effectively sacred.

In fact, even assuming that his description of "ideological subversion" is real and effective, then haven't we proven it wrong already? Society did get significantly more leftist in the 1990s with the likes of Clinton, but then we got a Conservative resurgence. Also, look at gun laws! They're expanding. Getting looser every year, and have been since the Assault Weapons Ban expired. Hardly the actions of an upcoming police state.

Then there's the fact that your title has nothing to do with your post. Are we talking about personal safety or the future of a nation? In terms of personal safety, I can recall 4 specific situations where I feared for my personal safety. In all cases I either confronted or avoided the threat as appropriate and, with some luck, settled things without injury. If anything my handling of said situations, proving myself on-the-spot, however mildly, has made me more confident in my safety through proof of my ability to protect myself.

Personal safety, I don't own a gun and people are being assassinated and kidnapped all over the place in and out of this country. Did you know James Holmes' father was about to testify against the wealthy elite of our country?

All over the place? 12,996 murders were committed in 2010 (according to FBI Uniform crime reports). That's out of a population of ~306,000,000 You do the math on how miniscule a percentage that is (we're taking thousandths of a percent). Average crime is going down across the board as well. The Colorado shooting doesn't change that.

And so what if his dad was about to testify? Last I checked his kid went batshit crazy, or do you suspect the elite pulled a James Bond villain act, brainwashed his son in some underground corporate bunker somewhere to get back at him?

It's not implausible, but then none of that stuff surprises me, but there are 0 details.

Before you blow a gasket explain what you are on about.

When there's a hurricane or tornado warnings in the region I do get concerned about my family's and my own safety however, with proper planning you can be prepared for the worst.

It's threads like these that make me so happy I had the 8th grade Civics teacher I did. He used to get us SO worked up about this or that news story of the day, certain that the world would end because Iran threatened to blockade the Persian Gulf or whatever was in the newspaper that day. He'd tell a totally plausible-sounding story, he used real facts you could verify, everything. Then a few months later and few horribly-worrying stories later, the word was still there. Every time. Because people saw problems coming, procrastinated, but eventually dealt with them or they went away. It was like a vaccine for conspiracy theories and apocalyptic storytelling, I wish more people had a similar experience.

But then realistically, probably the bigger problem with most conspiracy theory people is some level of either undiagnosed or untreated mental illness. Really more sad than anything.

People like things that get them excited. Conspiracy theories, though 99.9% bunk, are exciting. Further exciting is the idea that you're special due to some knowledge, that you're a superior class of person for knowing the "truth".

It's notable that there are virtually no conspiracy theorists among academics or anyone who does critical thinking for a living.

I have feared for my safety ever since Obama was elected. I feared he would molest my American dreams with his socialism, as have I feared he would eat my dog ever since Fox News alerted me to his tendency to feat upon them. Thus far Obama has already delivered on one of my fears, I suspect it is only a matter of time before he delivers on my second. :(

I really wish people would learn what the word means. Basic civics education folks.

Where are the gulags in modern 21st century Socialist states? Last I checked Sweden wasn't the one with a Guantanamo bay. And they have had DECADES of being Socialist. OH NOES!

Practically everyone knows the partisan stuff is bullshit, we just don't have any viable alternatives right now. If you really are afraid of the government tracking you down over posts like this, I suggest you leave the country and, above all else, stop posting. Or if you want to take an active part in resisting it, there are much better, more secure and widely available venus to spread the word than a politics sub-forum (one of thirty eight) on a tech site.

But in all likelihood you're just here for attention and to convince yourself that you have somehow come across superior knolwedge. Well you haven't. What you've come across is problems everyone knows about to some degree and, instead of just admitting that the problems are naturally occuring, you attribute the cause to some vast, romantic socialist psychological warfare scheme; the last laugh of Soviet bravado, the traitor in our midst, the grand enemy of the state, and you must help your fellow Americans! Arise! Arise, Riders of Théoden! Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered! A sword day... a red day... ere the sun rises! Ride now... Ride now... Ride! Ride for ruin and the world's ending! Death!"

It's all chest thumping at the end of the day.

Ironically you're following the very psychology of the video you posted. Instead of thinking critically and analyzing information, you're acting "demoralized" to use the KGB guy's terminology. Some doctrine has gotten into your impreshionable mind and, despite proveable, concrete facts to the contrary thrown in your face you refuse to see it. In my mind you probably have a simple psychological issue, like insecurity or depression, or maybe you're just young and naive. In your mind, by your logic, you've been subverted by a decades old plan put in place by the KGB. And you like it, even cling to it, because this mentality gives you a chance to be a hero without any effort. I sincerely hope you find something more meaningful to base your life on.

Lately, I have been searching for information on what is really going on in this country. With some help from people in this forum I was pointed in the right direction and have been watching videos on what is really going on and I have to say I am, for the first time in ever, genuinely scared for my safety.

Of the many videos I saw this one probably resonated the most with me in terms of what has happened to our beloved country:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvoZCtpYCRI

We are in stage 3 right now and we are about to see huge changes in this country very soon unless our military or the other world powers intervene. I am worried because I have been rather open with my speech online and the powers that be are monitoring all of this, especially on Facebook and popular forums like ours here. Don't believe me? Well, I hope you are right, but if you look past the lies being fed to us you can see all of the signs.

The people on the right now believe the socialism we've been living under for a decade or two now is actually capitalism. The people on the left are being controlled by the busting of their unions and the ridicule of their speech. The people like me, in the middle, are being reconditioned to accept the "obvious flaws" in capitalism and democracy. People are openly questioning our Constitution and Bill of Rights. Our leaders pass laws everyday that remove more and more of our freedom and economic liberty.

I fear that our country has lost the war, tyranny is here already and without a single bomb being dropped.
When some assholes cuts into my lane or similar, to fear all the other shit is stupid and buying into the meme hook line and sinker. Fear = control when it comes to the media and government.

More people die from cheeseburger regaled deaths each year than terrorism yet look how much fear and control has been exercised in the name of terror.

The real fight isn't between liberals or conservatives, Repubs or Democrats. They are merely convenient divide and rule/conquer smokescreens. The legitimate fight for US sovereignty belongs to stealthy shapeshifting hypocritical progressives vs. originalists, and right now, the originalists are losing baaaaaaadly.
