Remember loving getright when I had dial up since if you got disconnected it would let you continue from the spot it stopped at.

I'm OLD, and have been married longer than most ATOTers have been alive...so yes, there have been many things that

truly tests your temperance as a man

But slow downloads ain't even on the list.

Maybe someday, the OP will get a REAL life and will find out what kinds of things may TRULY test his temeperance as a man...(if he ever actually becomes a MAN)

our first "high speed" connection was a microwave wireless internet provider, it was 384/128, so 36-40KB/s was about what it maxed out at downstream.

it was cool though, when we first got it, they didnt have the cap on it yet, and it was just a free for all, i was getting like 10mbps sometimes, and this was in like 1998 so then it was amazing.. shoot, i'd love 10mbps now.. we have the second to the most expensive business connection our cable company provides, and its 8/8, static IP, 5 email accounts, 100MB webspace... the upstream kicks ass... i actually take advantage of it too, i keep all my software/OS images on an ftp server, and it's nice to be able to grab them when i need them on a call at ~1MB/s

the "platinum" business package is 16/8, 10 emails, 500MB webspace, and of course a static IP
