Anyone watching this on Sci-Fi??

This movie is one of the scariest I have ever seen but I still can't turn it off.

Yep. I didn't like it at first, but then I started looking at it as if it were a horror movie and not a sci-fi movie. I love the way they portray the technology that generates the black hole; it has a demonic supernatural aspect to it..

My ex-GF and I went to see this in the theater and we were the ONLY people in the theater! Talk about creepy...!

I thought it was pretty good although the ending was a *weeeee* bit different than I was expecting.

I own it :D

It's a nice mix of sci-fi and horror, right up there with the original aliens movie. (If you were old enough to see Aliens when it first came out)

(on a total tangent, my mom took my sister and I to see "The Exorcist" at a drive-in when it came out, we were 8 and 10 at the time. I blame every bad thing that happens to me in my life on that because of the traumatic experience ;) )

I think anyone who enjoyed that movie needs intensive psychotherapy and should be removed from society immediately. That was by far the most disturbing thing I've ever seen. This is coming from a guy who enjoyed watching Faces of Death as a kid.

i agree.... and good to see that there are fans of that movie..... i found the atmosphere very nightmarish and surreal...felt very weird and creepy, i knew the movie wasnt pop culture material but i enjoyed the movie thoroughly...the casting in the movie was perfect, the scene in which sam neil is in the chair without his eyes talking to fishburne was very creepy, i think in most parts of the movie there wasnt much music in the background , i guess that made it even more creepy.

I agree with you about the casting.

I think Sam Neil was the best choice for Dr. Weir.

Hah I was talking shite about the movie after I saw it the first time over at my friend's house, I think I asked him wtf Sam Neil was supposed to be. He said, "He's supposed to have gone to a different demension and came back as satan." I replied, "That's not satan, thats Santa!"

I guess it didn't scare me very much :p

I thought the movie was pretty terrible. I watched it after seeing it recommended here on ATOT over and over. The story was mediocre, and the effects... well, ya can't carry a movie with the effects (ask George Lucas... :p).

I thought the movie was an exelent blend of sci-fi and horror up until towards the end where it seemed to lapse into traditional cliches of the genre. The entire movie I was thinking how great it was to be watching something different but then at the end it was just like watching another Freddy Cruger (sp?).

I watched it a few years ago when it first came on HBO... I must have been 14-15 and it did a pretty good job of freaking me out since I was alone with the lights off. :p
