talk about zero-g fire 😀

I don't remember that part...elaborate?

Miller: I'm telling you it was his voice I heard, he was calling to me. A young bosun named Eddie Corrick. We served on the Goliath together. When the O2 tanks ruptured, four of us made it to the lifeboat but Corrick was still on board the Goliath when the fire broke out.
[to D.J]
Miller: Have you ever seen fire in zero gravity?
[D.J shakes his head]
Miller: It's beautiful. It's like liquid it... slides all over everything. Comes up in waves. And they just kept hitting him, wave after wave. He was screaming for me to save him.
D.J.: What did you do?
Miller: I did the only thing I could. I closed the lifeboat hatch, and I left him behind. I swore I'd never lose another man.
D.J.: I've known you a long time. You never told me that.
Miller: That's just it D.J, I - I never told *anybody*. But this ship knew about it! It knows my fears, it knows my secrets! Gets inside your head and... it shows you!

Thanks. Strange, I wonder why they ran out for that.

woooo this movie was sick.. i wanted it on dvd, so i made some stupid best buy worker dig it out of the back for me one day.. it took me 30 minutes to get it

Wasn't that scary, but it was cool. When they show the clips of what happened to the crew of the ship, that was freaky. The scenes of the people being tortured were a bit disturbing.

So, where did the ship go anyway? Hell?

So what does that mean?

EDIT, nevermind, they translate it in the movie.

"Save yourself from hell", or something, right?

Nope - I didn't think it that scary. It didn't make me fear my stuffed animals or closet like Poltergeist did! Of course I was younger when I saw Poltergeist and an adult when Event Horizon came out 🙂

The tree outside my bedroom window scared me for a very long time.

I thought it was hilariously awful. The entire plot revolved around the characters making the dumbest possible choices.

I'll grant that there were many "startle" scenes with something popping out or somesuch juvenile thing like that, and that I definitely was startled, but that's a world and a half away from actually being scared by the movie.

EDIT: Then again, I didn't think Exorcist was particularly scary in any way either. Meh.

Loved the movie. I was probably around 15 or 16, and it didn't so much scare me as just freak me out. Great movie though. Sam Neil did an awesome job in his role.

And of course, Zao wrote an entire CD using clips from this movie. The CD is titled Liberate Te Ex Inferis. It's an awesome dark CD, and the sound clips make it even more so.
