As I have said before, environmentalism is a religion hellbent on debasing America's higher standard of living. I and others foresaw that as soon as it became more economic to pursue "green" energies, they would change the beat of their march and begin saying things like this-- "But solar panels would destroy the beautiful desert!"
This can be filed next to the exploding populations of [insert endangered polar wildlife inhabiting Alaska here] (I honestly don't recall which animal it was) because the oil pipelines are providing warmth and increasing survival rates.
