Why GM release this under Saturn, and not Pontiac or Cadiallac
Because Pontiac already has the Solstice and they don't want to dilute Cadillac's nameplate with a sub $30k car?

Funny Saturn rolls out the Sky right after Toyota drops the MR2.

The Sky is gorgeous and I have a feeling it'll make a lot of people try Saturn for the first time.
I have to give Saturn a :thumbsup::thumbsup:

And don't forget to give Bob Lutz some credit. He took a lot of crap for his perceived failures as head of GM, but the Solstice/Sky were undeniably his babies.

if its around 30k... I'll go with s2k instead 😛

24K msrp base.

the Solstice which is the same car, but less options and looks different is 19K msrp. can option the solstice up to 24k, and the Sky up to 29 iirc.

then you will have the Sky Redline, and the Solstice GXP. which will be turbocharged versions of this car, probably with dual outlet exhaust and a few other styling cues.

wow, that's reasonable 🙂 Are there any pics with the top up? I wonder if it's manual to save the cost.

btw, did u have a different name before?

nope had this name forever.

there are a few spy shots of the Solstice with the top up. iirc it is a manual folding top. the hood opens like a corvette hood, and the trunk opens reverse also. some people like to argue this will be a downfall, but in reality the trunk does not have THAT much usable space. this is not going to be a daily driver, grocery getter car. this will be a relaxing fun to drive weekend car.

It's manual because that's precisely what a RWD roadster SHOULD be.

I hope they don't even offer an auto.

Viper GTS

the top dude, the top not the transmission

After looking at more pics of this car... I'm surprised with the number of Top Gear viewers, they don't see a Vauxhall VX220 Turbo!

Can't wait to see the Redline version. I'd buy it over the S2k mainly because it's turbocharged and has torque to make it easier to drive. Bilsteins out of the box?? Nice.

o people know its a Vauxhall, the Saturn is much more vauxhall though than the solstice.

also, a lot of current rumors have it that Saturns styling direction is going to go a LOT more Vauxhall like than anything else.

Driver with mullet? Check.

Lambskin seatcover? Check.

Chrome rims? Check.

Despite all of that, I still want one. 🙂

The only thing Vauxhall about it is the styling.
