This is really weird! I went to my local Best Buy and found lots of them for $29.99. I picked up one with a $10 MS rebate sticker on it and headed for checkout (I thought if it doesn't ring up at $9.97, i'll just return it later). Then at the cashier, it did ring up at $29.99 so I was a bit disappointed.... BUT at the cashier, three pieces of receipts paper printed out and that cashier said that there's a rebate!

I first thought that it's the MS rebate... but then the MS mouse has it's own rebate right on the box and just requires a receipt. So i looked at the printed stuff and.... holy cow! there's a $15 rebate for this mouse!!! It says vaild from 3/24/02 to 3/30/02! So $29.99 - $10 - $15 = $5!!! I know it's not free, but $5 isn't too shabby! :)

Now i have to find out whether both rebates requires original UPC...

And hopefully you guys can find the rebate form online, so you guys can get it for $-10!!!

douggie, that shouldnt be too hard, just look at the fine print on both the rebates. Most ask for the orig...but some say a copy. Usually they want what they want.... let us know.

Ive been thinking about going optical but after the posts above,im wondering if its an upgrade.I thought it might work well on an uneven surface like my recliner arm or sometimes my jeans for living room surfing, but maybe it wouldnt be an improvement...

I was shot down in N. Tucson. Tag said $25-$10, rang up at $30-$15-$10. I got confused and ran out of the store crying.

I have one of these mice from an earlier $8AR buy.com deal. It's ugly as sin but a real pleasure to use as it is a fraction of the weight of the already lightweight optical explorer.

I picked mine up today for $9.97 (both $9.97 and $24.99 tags were on the shelf) after a manager approved the price. (They took the $9.97 shelf tag down after I showed it to them.) But, now I'm wondering if BB will honor the $15 rebate that printed out with the receipt even though the receipt is only for $9.97. Anyone have any insights?

Thanks

BTW: I had to go to two BB's to find the $9.97 price. The one that had it just so happened to be located in the same shopping center as OD and Target. Any connection?

just got from Brookpark, OH. the shelf said 9.97 and it rang up 29.99 and i had to show the shelf tag. they pricematched and printed the receipt on the yellow sheet and once it was done started printing the 15.00 rebate form and receipt. they screamed and said they cant give me that and they adjusted the price without my self sending the rebates (all the junk stuff), called the manager but he didn't budge. so i got out of the store with no rebate form or receipt. so what i am supposed to do? is there any link on best buy for 15.00 or just send the microsoft rebate 10.00.

Checked the local Beast Buy in BeaverDitch OH. $29.99. Didn't hang around to find out if there are additional rebates ... maybe I shoulda.

Don't lose hope; I think we can put two and two together here. It's not Circus City that they must be matching; I think it's ChumpUSSR. To wit:

Our first clue

you gotta go all the way to the bottom.

Now, going to

Our second clue

here we find the mouse at 24.99, with 5 and 10 rebates, 9.99 out the door. Thus, we must have BB PM ChumpUSSR, and you get the little rodent for tax ($25-$15BB-$10MFR). That is, of course, if you can't get paid $15 to take it off BB's hands.

Problem somewhat solved.

Looks like it's not possible to get bothe $10 (MS) and $15 (BB) rebates because both of them require original UPC codes... damn

Going to return it afterall. :(

I just scored one of these at the Arlington, TX store. The weird thing was the shelf tag said $15 - $15 rebate = FREE. I saw one that had a $10 rebate on the package. I took it up to the register and the $15 rebate printed out with no problem.

Picked up one at my lunch break. Shelf tag says $9.97 but rang up $29.99. The guy was really surprised that it didn't ring up correctly, and also was staring at the $10 rebate on the box a lot! Lucky for me, nobody made a deal out of it, but I did overhear the floor manager grunted something like "I'm going to take that tag off the shelf".

There was no rebate printed out of the cashier, but since it doesn't seem possible to claim both, I'm not complaining...

Well, actually I do feel kinda bad today -- on my way back, I got pulled over for going 10 miles above (45 @ 35 zone)!:disgust: Think I should fight the ticket? ;)

They had a stack of them in Lakeland - but strangely there was no shelf price for this item.

Was about to goto the checkout for a price verification when I realised that the rebate was out of date - valid until 02/28/2002.

However if there are applicable $15 rebates it might be worth considering.

Schaumburg, IL -- The pattern follows. Shelf tag of $9.97, the cashier girl flipped, so I had to prove it. She pulls the shelf tag, her manager sells me 2 at the $9.97 price, and they freak (but let me walk with them) when the $15 rebate slips printed out.

Now the dilemma - do I try and rook BB out of $15 on each of these (they may balk) or do I play it safe and just redeem the Microsoft $10 rebates?? Any thoughts???

Houston, TX Galleria BB store. No shelf tag. 20 boxes on shelf. Rings up as $14.97 and $15 rebate prints out. Peel-off $10 MS rebate. Both require original barcode UPC. $16.21 with tax - $15 = $1.21!!!

Ok here is the deal. I bought one of these at my local BB a few hrs ago. It rang up 29.99. Then a $15 BB rebate printed out and a another $10 one. The $10 dollar one was only good until 4/28. But there is another $10 on the box(sticker) which is vaild until like 6/30/02. Now both require original upc. I called BB rebate center told them this and they said to just send a copy to them (for the $15) and then use the real upc for the $10 Microsoft rebate. Now i know what your thinking 29.99 - 15 -10= 5 bucks you have to pay for it. Well i also called the local office depot and office max. They both have the same mouse for $24.99 BEFORE REBATES. So i called BB back said i just bought one for 29.99 and the other places have the same mouse IN STOCK(has to be or BB won't PM) and they said just to bring the reciept in and they will PM to 24.99. NOw it's the way it's meant to be...FREE. I am going to take it in now and will post the results of the PM. An just in case i am not taking the rebate form or reciept in case they want to take it. :)

Here is the UPDATE:
SO i take the receipt back to BB to PM. Well i called my local OM and OD first and made sure they had the mouse in stock and also listened to how they told me how much it was. THe OM person said "its 24.99 then there are rebates" the OD person said "its 19.99" and thats it. SO when i went to BB i told them to give OD a call, which they did. An to my surprise it actually worked like i wanted it too. WHen she ask the OD person how much the mouse was they said "its 19.99" when it is actually only that after rebates. So she gave me like 11 bucks and some change back. I still have the 15 MIR from Microsoft and the 10 from BB. So
29.99 - 11.xx - 15 -10= 6 bucks in my pocket.
So basically they paid me 6 bucks to take home a 30 buck mouse. Not a bad deal. Oh and since it was so smokin i told the girl at customer service to hold on and went back and grabed another one.
