thanks.

I'm still trying to figure out what exactly there is to do, much less what I specifically want to do 😉

Depends on what you like 😀 There is a vast economics game in the system, buying/selling/trading/shipping... There is a huge production game, from research of blueprints/mining raw materials/refining materials to more advanced materials/building of ship parts, modules, hulls, components.... There is a large faction based warfare between the states. There is PvE with running missions for corporations. There is PvP with both corporate/alliance warfare. There is piracy. There is "ninja" salvaging of wrecks that other people have created. There is empire building/protection (especially in null). There is intrigue (setup a player and infiltrate a target corporation, gain trust, and strip them for all they are worth)....

It has a lot to offer.

Chain of Chaos made it into Alliance Tournament 9. Our 1st pre-qualifying match is Sunday the 29th at 19:20.

Good luck in the qualifiers next weekend! One of the downsides to being in FW is that we don't get a shot to enter. 🙁 Any chance any of the ATers are going to make the team? Would be pretty neat.

We bashed a POS outta bored the other night and it came out of reinforced earlier today.. I, by rule, will not set an alarm clock to wake up in the middle of the night for a video game, but it looks like we had enough online to drop the POS.

I don't know exactly how the fight went, but it looks like the defenders jumped their cap fleet in without any substantial subcap support. We took the field and got all the loot, so I think our guys came out fairly well ahead, but it looks like it was a good fight.

Yeah, I guess it all depends on the drops you guys took from the SMA. Otherwise, you guys lost 10b to kill 12b + ~500mill in drops. From my point of view, that is a loss. You really needed more logistics there. That said, they were pretty stupid as well sending that fleet out to protect a POS worth maybe 350mill unless there were some expensive crap in that SMA (which probably didn't drop).

Incarna is kinda cool and all, but I'm not sure how many current EVE players give a damn about walking around with their character ... well, perhaps the bearcarers. :hmm:

Yeah, until we can have giant orgy's on the 3rd floor of the engineering deck by the second reactors control console, I just don't care.

Need to remember to give my trader some TLC. I hadn't looked at him in over a week and almost all his sell orders were completely done, and all of his buy orders were fullfilled. He was also sitting on over 3.5bill isk+all the buy order gear I had setup. I didn't have time to do a whole lot of new buy orders (just over 1bill), but all the new sell orders I placed added up to almost 2.5 bill. Need to go check some of the other main markets to place some orders/purchases to put the other 2+bill I have sitting in his wallet....

I don't know if it is just me, but I hate the lack of some basic tools out there for many things in Eve. My biggest one right now is POS maintenance tools. I gave up finding a suitable tool out there and wrote my own. Right now it just has some basic functionality. You select the tower type (I have all standard and faction variants coded), and currently you can enter the fuel quantity you have in it and the tool will then tell you how many hours of fuel you have left for the tower, which fuel type you will run out of first, and shows how many hours of fuel you have for all the fuel components used by that tower.

I want to add some more functionality, so I can have it also spit out how much of each fuel component to add to the tower properly fill the fuel bay. It is just a basic html page/form with javascript to do the calculations.

hahaha.... that is very much like what I had been putting together. I looked all over google but didn't see anything that did what I wanted, so that was why I started making my own.

^^
If anyone wants to know what I find to be most fun about this game is the $40usd worth of pixels taken from someone.

My gf was over one night, and I showed her a faction BS kill or something and said the same thing. That the ship loss was worth approximately 40 bucks in real life, I was hoping she'd be impressed, but I think she was disappointed by boys and their toys. 🙂

Not a huge surprise to me, I didn't honestly see Dust doing very well with the Xbox crowd anyway - at least not if CCP wanted actual interaction/integration with EVE.

Yeah, I knew that Dust wasn't going to appear on the 360 with how anal MS is with Live and crap.

I really do wish it was coming to the PC too though. That is where the game will get long life legs, not on a console whose users move from game to game at such extreme rates. Eve will be around for a long time to come with how CCP keeps updating and such. We can't say the same for Dust sadly unless they release a new one when the next round of consoles hit.

If it was on the PC, I bet an extremely large portion of the Eve population would buy it too.

Yeah, I think it should be on PC, too, I don't know if they're worried about it competing directly with EVE then, or what? I don't see EVE users desubbing their accounts to play DUST. I imagine many EVE players with PS3s will pick this up, and of course some non-EVE players, but I agree, I can't see it being popular for any length of time with non-EVE players as once the next FPS comes out, it'll be on to that.

Buy another FPS console port....mhhh....no thanks.

Damn near everything is a console port now. We have very few big PC games built for the PC first and foremost.

You either accept it and hope the ports are at least good, or you play very few games or just quit gaming all together.
