Don't use base T1 modules. If you can't use T2, then at least use named modules (except where it is extremely cost prohibitive). T1 rigs are fine though.
Also, I would change the low slots. An EANM and Damage Control II would be much more effective than a thermic and regenerative membrane.
I find that a scout is essential to having success in finding targets. You don't always need probes, but it helps if you have good bait to keep the targets from running (Although if they do run the probes become all the more useful). Of course if you are going after mission or anomoly runners, then a prober is essential.

the J5 warp disruptor is pretty cheap, you should go with that at least (or J5b scrambler), since you get extra range (which is extremely important when you tackle).
You don't need nor want a probe launcher on a frigate. Also, do not do any fighting on a gate or station, as the gateguns will kill you very fast.
Your fit looks good to me other than that though. 100mm Tungsten is better armor plating, but you may want to take off the plate anyway so that you maintain your natural speed and agility advantage in your ship.

Yeah I know... 🙂 I've been playing the game for a while (since '04); I've done a lot of 0.0, where I was (briefly) in the original Curse Alliance, Foundation, Forsaken Empire, Center for Disease Creation (that one was fun!) and so forth. I had a lot of fun in the free-for-all when the drone regions first opened up.
My problem really is that I want the game to be fun, but I don't have more than just a few hours a week to put into it. I have 5 accounts total (most disabled), which include 2 that can fly carrier/dread. Three are maxed out Hulk pilots who also have tons of combat skills, and I have two that fly Orcas. Once can fly command ships with the gang links.
So I think the ideal corp would be loosely knit, ok with casual playing, that occasionally runs lowsec or 0.0 or wh wulfpax, yet still allows me time to make occasional isk. I don't think I want to make the commitment to an alliance that maintains sov, so if I do 0.0 it'll be NPC.
Any suggestions? I really want this game to be fun again because I love the idea of it.
Well that describes my alliance pretty well. I play to have fun, and have no interest in Sovereignty nor the politics of 0.0. Most other pirate alliances are similar. I am sure you would be welcome to join us if you want.
Just PM me if you are interested. I'll bring you in and you can come with me to blow up stuff when you want to. If not, I am sure there are others here that do that kind of stuff as well, and would welcom eyou to join them.

Yeah. In fact the majority of people from Anandtech in my corp are on PDT. I am actually on EDT, but Michael, Ichy, and JStorm are all PDT players.

I second what Martimus said about the corp, it's a great one if you just want to play casually. I actually feel a little bad that I haven't contributed much recently, I haven't had all that much EVE time and with Fallout: New Vegas coming out that probably won't change for at least a few weeks. No one gives you grief about it though, if you just hop on for a few hours per week they'll be fine with it.
Yes, EVE's 0.0 landscape is turning into this because of the nature of the Dominion sov changes. Essentially it is monetarily stupid for an alliance to reserve space for themselves. Moongoo and the like are on its way out as the defacto warchest building residual income.
It is now all about renters. Even back in the day renting systems was really good. Bob made a killing renting to the fountain farmers etc. But now... with Cosmic Anomalies in Military 5 upgraded systems, an alliance that rents out space to corporations confined to single systems in a renter alliance should make more isk a month than any moongoo enabled alliance could every hope.
This is the landscape EVE 0.0 is turning into and it is honestly for the better. No more 'taking your space cause I am Bob or AAA' crap. Also, loosing space isn't as bad.
Get into one of the renter corporations that dabble in PVP and PVE and you'll be set. Try the Northern alliances or Initiative Associates in the south.

I love and am currently missing 0.0
My corp left our space and decided to setup shop in low sec, it was suppose to be a temp thing so I took a little time off to train a few month long skills I had been needing to take care of. Well now they decide to just stay in low sec, so I left them bah.
Now I need to go do my homework and find a corp that fits my needs and isn't crap in a decent part of null. This process always takes awhile lol

I did a little more reading and I got the impression you can only use a research POS if the person who owns it belongs to your corp. Is there something I'm misreading there?
Also, how much would it cost to add research capability to a POS? I'd be willing to chip in part of the cost if you wanted to add it to yours assuming it wasn't outlandishly expensive. I don't know anything about POS operation though so I might be horrified by the price.
The cost isn't the issue, what is the issue is the fitting. A POS has CPU and Powergrid requirements just like ships. If I were to add a research lab, I would need to offline a reactor, which would cost me 650K ISK per hour of lost profits. Considering that researching can take several hours or even days, this cost adds up considerably.
The cost of the Mobile Laboratory is 44M ISK, (http://eve-central.com/home/quicklook.html?typeid=16216) plus ~100M ISK per weeks in lost profits.
However I do know someone within the corp who has a Research POS up, and if you are still interested I will let you know in game who has it so that you can ask him if you can use it.

Start up costs were high (I spent $105 US on GTCs to bankroll the start), and I spent a lot of time babysitting the two POSes in the beginning, but I have figured out the logistics part so that now I only need to do maintenance once a week. The current net profits are around 600M per month. That changes with the market, but it is a nice source of income for me, and I don't see needing to ever buy any more GTC's.

I’m an old player that took a long break from game and recently re activated. I actually have two accounts one with a hauler alt on it that fly’s a freighter, the single most expensive ship I ever purchased at well over a billion ISK back in the day
But my main is Caldari who was my PvP/PvE character. Back when I was playing regularly I was part of a corporation that was part of a PvP alliance. The alliance is no longer around and I’m the last one left in my corp. Actually there was no one left until I reactivated it.
Since I got back I fitted out a Tengu and have been running level 3s in it… yes it’s overkill for Level 3s but it so much more fun to fly than my Drake. It was also the 2nd more expensive ship I’ve ever bought and I don’t want to fly it in PvP until I have enough Isk to replace it. On the current market that’s about 500,000,000 to 600,000,000 ISK to buy and fit a new one.
I’m also about half way to the 600,000 rep points I need to get a Cladari Navy Raven. Talk about a GRIND when you are doing level 3s for the rep.
It’s been fun to get back in game and get caught up, While I don’t have a crazy amount of SP trained due to a long lay off, about 35 mill on my Caldari and a bit more on my hauler alt, I do have a lot of experience in fleet operations and PvP of that type.
I wouldn’t mind doing some PvP with good people. Not sure I would be looking to join your crop but I wouldn’t mind running along on the occasional ops as a friendly.
Better to try people out you don’t know first anyway. I wont go into what happened to one of the corps in my alliance but lets just say it’s still sited as one of the most infamous corporation thefts of all times. There are good reasons to be cautious in EvE.
I tell you even doing PvE since I’ve been back I’ve lost two ships. One was my own stupidity the other was just one of those things.
I lost an EMPTY Badger II at a gate camp in .4 when I was going to retrieve some items that had been left at a station back from my PvP days. Now if the campers had been professionals, and not simply griefers, they would have had someone scan me while I was sill in high sec and hit me AFTER I made my pick up, not before.
Knowing that these people were only griefers I did the one thing I knew would really piss them off. I stuck around in a cloaked Mantacore, which I just so happened to also have in that same system and warned people of the gate camp. They taunted me but I never once responded directly to them. Most griefers are only in it to see people complain in local, so I’m sure I was a very unsatisfying target. Hey I had four more Badger II sitting back at another station so it didn’t bother me. Now if they had got my cargo…. Different story I guess.
It was after this encounter that I realized that while the quantity of griefers in game may have indeed increased the quality appears to be somewhat diluted. Oh yeah I’ve been griefed by some pros in the past.
My other loss was a Crow outside a station in ……. Wait for it….. JITA.
I was looking to see if I could get a deal on some modules and I thought perhaps Jita, hive of scum and villainy that it is, might be a good place to look.
Yeah I made a rookie mistake in Jita by not maintaining full MWD speed while outside the station, and paid for it with an interceptor. Ganked by two griefers who lost their destroyers to Concord and then their friend who was trying to get my wreck and salvage lost it to another griefer LOL

We are located in Genesis, and have pretty much uncontested control over the low-security space there. If you are interested you can apply for Diplomatic Disruption in the safety of Oursulaert so you don't need to come to Antem.
Probes are the way to go.
