Yeah, it is just a big variable, (I had guessed 60-80). We don't know how much SP per hour they will be going off of (2k is bare minimum should be more like 2200) and how many hours will they give it to us for, 30 hours was what the entire downtime was around or will they only give for the part of downtime that wasn't planned, or just round it up too 2 days even due to the whole fiasco to start with.

In reality it really doesn't matter though, 2 times at most of training time won't even make much of a difference for a lot of people, I'll just be throwing the SP into a skill I want to train but isn't good for my current attributes to get the most bang out of it (I'm full perception with the rest in will atm)
 
The other question is if we can sit on that bonus sp and use it when we want. For instance, I still have the training bonus on my main character and would rather use it AFTER my bonus is up, not before (unless they plan on giving me double to account for the double rate that he earns).
 
Nice. So, any tips you guys can give me on must have skills I should be training for a pilot? I have most of the learning stuff done (at least all the first tier attribute point bonus skills to lvl 4 (except cha), and the same for the second tier to lvl4 (well perception is to lvl3 and willpower to lvl2 at the moment)). I have been focusing my time on int/memory skills for the moment since I remapped my attributes to max those two skills (to faster learn the learning skills and then the electronics/engineering stuff). This is to be a combat pilot build, so any help would be appreciated.

I figured if I could learn some basic electronics/jamming I could be useful to a corp right away as opposed to months from now. Any preferences on what turrets I should train as well?

Well you should take the tier 1 learning skills to 5 asap.

Engineering to 5 asap

Electronics to 5 asap

Hull upgrades to 5 asap

Weapon upgrades to 5 asap

Adv. Weapon upgrades to 4 asap

Energy Management to 5 asap.

You could train for the next year with int/mem and I would do that. Get yourself enough skills to pilot a battle cruiser of choice and roll with that for a long time.
 
Thanks, I wasn't sure if the extra bonus attribute of lvl 5 on the basic learning ones was worth it, but since it only takes just over a day (currently), I will go do that.
 
A lot depends on what you want to fly, or what race(s) ships in general.

But training Engineering< Electronics, Hull Upgrades, Energy Managment, Navigation, Energy System Operations

Those are universally helpful regardless. Also make sure you take the tier 1 learning skills to 5 first and the secondary to lvl 4

Tell us what ships you are aiming for or at least which races ships you are wanting to fly and we can focus more then on skills for that too.

Don't worry about remapping yet, sure it will be tough for awhile but it will help yourself out soo much if you can nail down a lot of the basics and support skills so when you do get into those new ships you actually have good skills for them instead of like many ppl rush to get into a Battleship for example and have piss poor support skills and they wonder why the BS sucks while it really is their skills.
 
Yeah, that was part of my reasoning on electronics/engineering skills to begin with (and why I mapped for int/mem.... currently 26.8 for both of them). Well, it is really up in the air at the moment as to what ships I want to fly. I picked the Amarr for my race, but I havn't put any skill points into the frigates. I purchased Minimar frigates and trained it to lvl 1, but really, any race's ships will cost me about the same amount of time to get into at this point. I've been reading as much as I can on battleclinck and such, and it seems to be a high preference for either of those two race ships at the moment.

Can't go wrong with either of those two IMO. Minmatar is generally a higher SP requirement cause some of their ships are shield tankers or are armor as well as having different play styles for a lot of the ships so you need to invest more to get more out of them, but they are great ships. Most useful in small/mid size gangs. They are more agile then Amarr ships which are normally heavy with armor.

Amarr are generally tank and gank ships and are the best in fleet/large scale combat. Amarr are pretty much just armor tankers, you can fit some ships for shield tanking well, but generally they are armor tankers. You'll be using lasers so you need to max out your capacitor skills.

Both are great choices, just comes down to what you see yourself doing in the future and which race has the ships you like more be it for whatever reason that maybe. Nice thing about those two is they share a lot of the same skills so moving from one to another isn't too bad, you'll just have to learn new weapons systems.

Personally, I fly Amarr exclusively. I love the amount of damage I can tank and the amount I can dish out, and in fleet roles they have the best ships. Other plus is you don't need to carry around tons of ammo due to lasers. Their T2 ship lineup is IMO probably the best in the game as well.

Downsides of Amarr are, they are slow ships due to having so much armor, lasers restrict your dmg type (in all honestly this isn't too much of a concern I've found), and you can have cap problems even with max'd out skills (generally isn't much of an issue in gangs/fleet and/or can micromanage your modules).

That mechanic has been around for a while actually. Typically if I'm traveling outside my alliance's home space in 0.0 and I see a neutral/hostile in local when I jump in I'll warp to a location that is out of alignment with any gate so that I'll typically avoid those bubbles.

Chalk it up as a lesson learned. Lesson being, if their are neuts or WT's in the system, you don't warp from gate to gate, you use a planet to warp from. If it is a system you travel regularly you should have an off grid safe spot that isn't in alignment between any gates and you use or even have a bookmark 300k off the gate then use that and then warp to the gate from that depending on situations.

We deal with those all the time from the main choke point our alliance uses to access high sec. Neighbors hang out and put the bubble between our jump bridge and the gate.
 
Yeah, sorry you learned about it the hard way. I read about it, which is one of the reasons why I wanted to train up electronics skills so that I could be the one setting them at some point 😀

The bubble was not between gates, it was actually 60km the complete other side of the gate. I wouldn't really have had a problem with it if he had "craftily" placed the bubble between gates. Does that garbage work with heavy interdictors too? I have an alt with Hictor 5
 
I meant can you "pull" people to your location off of the gate with this mechanic using the heavy interdictors aura rather than a stationary bubble?

I think so. From what I have been told, it is actually even more effective, as a stationary bubble will only pull you if you are in line with the center of the bubble, while a HIC should always work (or so I'm told).

I don't deal with that mechanic often, as I rarely roam into 0.0.
 
The mechanic is quite simple -- if your warp path (a straight line) intersects the bubble sphere (stationary or hictor) and both you and the bubble are on the same grid then you get pulled to the edge of the bubble. Doesn't matter if the bubble is beyond your final destination by a bit, what matters is being on the same grid.

A bit surprising that you'd have a hictor 5 alt and not know about drag bubbles. That's one of the first things you learn about in 0.0.

Yep. Now to figure out how to distribute it.

Throw it into things I'd like to train, but don't want to take the time, or put it towards my more immediate goals? Spend it all at once on a long skill, or quickly gain a larger number of faster skills?

I suppose it makes more sense to use it to increase as many skill levels as possible, but it is very tempting to take a nice chunk out of a longer skill.

Use it on skills you want that aren't quick trains with your current attributes. That will give you the most bang for your buck so to speak.

Also, imo I rather train all skills 1-2 days and under and just use it to take a chunk off a bigger one instead to make it go by quicker.

Not sure which I'll be using it on, probably Siege Warfare Specialist V, that is like a 28 day long train iirc.
