"EVE Never Fades"

All of the footage is from actual gameplay. I'm very impressed, and I've been playing this game for a while now. Enjoy!

how is it? I wanted to try another mmo since i'm most likely quitting L2

I did do the beta test thing, and I wasn't too impressed. Good visuals, but I was confused as to the gameplay.

If you try it make sure you do the entire walk through tutorial in game. Honestly I was bored beyond belief. I keep hoping for something along the lines of a Privateer 2 the darkening MMO!
😉
I did the beta for eve also, it was horrible then. They have made significant improvements however the gameplay is just not exciting to me.
It feels like homeworld online.

The gameplay is different from a standard mmorpg, but it has the same aspects of it too.

The biggest lure is the PvP system, if you're into that you will love the game. The galaxy has individual systems and regions, some regions being heavily patrolled by cops and others totally lawless. You can attack people in the high security systems, but you'll be killed real fast (ie, suicide gank). You have a security rating in the game, if you keep this up you won't be able to enter certain core systems since your rating is below that system's threshold.

If you aren't into fighting, there are a few other things to do also. Mission running is Eve's quest treadmill. They are very repetetive but give the most money per amount of time per unit of fun. The game has 1 base to as the greatest money income: mining asteroids. This will always generate the most $/unit time directly from the game.

What I personally enjoy is the crafting system and player trading. Eve is very player oriented and much of the in game economy and politics is done by other players. If i can corner 1 high ticket item, i can inflate the prices and make some fast cash before someone comes in and tries to break it up. The market and manufacturing in eve is capitalist PvP, free for all and you don't lose your ship.

Anyway, I put my thoughts into text, but I'm pretty sure it has grammatical and flow problems, a bit too early for me still =). What you can do is get a free trial account for 14 days, download the client and put in the key. You can get the key from any eve player, there is a buddy program for it. If you would like to do that, you can PM me your email address and I'll get one sent to you.

I agree, the game bored the crap out of me. I couldn't stand it. Easily the worst PC game I've ever played. Even highly unstable games that crash a lot are better, because hey, at least something happens every now and then.

It's not for everybody. I like it for the complexity and the rich player-created environment, but if you prefer something where you're a guy running around in the forest throwing magic spells at someone via a button-mashing fest, then there are games out there more your speed.

hahaha

I played through most of the tutorial, but just couldn't bring myself to finish, I was soooo bored. I couldn't wait till I could stop playing and do some homework 😛

I have no doubt it gets a lot better after you know how to play and I love the premise and the style of game, I just couldn't go through the torture of learning it all. I wish I had a longer attention span.

The video looks awesome, and it looks like an already great game.

Graphics look OK. Music on that trailer adds no atmosphere at all.

Menu's look rather retro 1990's which I like.

Gameplay.... it could be good but could easily be crap.

Personally, Ill probably be getting X3 which looks better imo.

That is an excellent point, from the little time that I played it I could see it definetley has a deep enviornment to it however I feel it has been executed in a way that leaves much to be desired.

Complex games never entertain shallow people ...

How can you even say that when you have a post in your sig saying you are playing WoW?
🙂 I don't consider WoW to be complex.
I play WoW also, nothing wrong with mindless PvP when BF2 gets old.
😉 Lately I've been preferring it as BF2 bugs are getting real old.

So I am only allowed to play one game??

or if I do play more than one - they must be all identical?

I think you missed the point 😉

I guess so.

Is Eve complex? Yes.
Do I enjoy it? No.
Does that make me shallow? By your statement possibly.
This statement implies that EVE is a deep game. Shallow people would not enjoy it.
My argument is that it is a Deep game, however designed in a way that is not enticing to me.
I fail to see how that makes one "shallow"...😉
You are however entitled to your opinion.

EDIT.
Okay I just got it.
I am a retard!
I just analyzed that whole thing and missed the subcontext of deep vs. shallow.
Seeruk that was a good one.
😀
