EVAR isn't a word

I'm always bothered when so many people here use 'evar' instead of 'ever'. It seems like it is the most misspelled word on this forum. More importantly: why do those people always have to make it all capital letters to point out their misspelled word? Is it an inside joke or something that I missed out on? A quick search shows that 5 out of 8 people misspelling 'ever' in their thread title used extra capital letters.

Evan is my middle name and it looks so close to 'Evar' that it hits me wrong sometimes.

You don't know much about linguistics, do you? Ebonics is a dialect, not something that people use to "look cool" in front of their friends. It is no different, from a linguistic perspective, to the elitist-sounding Boston Brahman dialect or the distinct Brooklyn Dialect.

On TEH INTARWEB, they just so happen to be. Slang words often come from misspellings or mispronunciations of real, common words. Why should printed word on the Internet be exempt?
