It's hard to take Amy Lee seriously. When they got the Grammy for best new artist, band, or whatever it was they got it for, the whole band went up but all she talked about was herself. She told a sob story about the hard road SHE had travelled, praising HER fans for inundating the radio stations with requests because "no one was wanting to hear a chick and her piano on the radio."

Apparently, she forgot about Norah Jones, who took home multiple Grammys the year before. Who is Norah Jones? Oh yeah, a chick and her piano, much more so than Amy Lee, who used to have some very talented musicians to back her up.

their first CD was good IMO, garbage after that. and she soo cannot sing live from what i heard.

Her singing live sounds pretty much like the recordings. She's not a bad singer by any means.

Doesn't mean she can write great songs though...

Wasn't this exact story posted last year (on the internet, not necessarily ATOT)?

That was Ben Moody's departure, the 'revolving door of her life' that John is referring to.

If you want to see bands with a woman lead singer, try Lacuna Coil and Garbage. Both those bands are way better.
When the Evanescence Fallen album came out, I thought they had potential (w/o knowing about previous albums or projects).
Their recent album reversed my view of them.

Check out Within Temptation as well. I think they are playing a show with Lacuna Coil in Portland, Oregon at the end of May.

Oh, thanks for clearing this up. I thought I heard this sob story rant before. How come they can't have a normal breakup like most bands. What's with the picking sides and soapboxing? What's next? Myspace fight?
