Oh come on. How could anyone who isn't a scholar of African studies possibly score better on the African one. Liar.

:D
I had a world map on my desk as a kid. Naming all the bigger countries is easy.

edit: There's a more fun quiz where you have to place countries/states on an empty continent (only the shorelines drawn, i.e. no country borders). The quiz then calculates the average error. It's been posted here earlier but I'm too lazy to search.

I got bored halfway through, but I can pretty much say that I'll fail on every one of the ex-Yugoslavia states, as well as a couple of the Slavic states.
Once they stop merging/splitting every 5 years, I'll start caring where they are.

I did 15, and got 3 points. There were some countries in there that I've never heard of.
I can't remember ever being interested in geography, at least as far as country lines were concerned. When I was much younger, I preferred elevation maps, without all the damn useless lines everywhere. They were just country borders, which I saw as kind of superficial boundaries - they were all filled with "people," right? The borders didn't matter much to me.

Edit: ok, so apparently I didn't know how to read the score - I was looking at the points per question, and totally didn't see the gray boxes there that kept track of it.

Final score: 48. Part of it was like a game of Memory - "Ok, I remember seeing that name before, where was it....."

I've not heard of quite a few of them.

132... I clicked on main Russia when it said Russia (Kalingrad) then realized I should have clicked the little section over by Poland. Also got mixed up with one of the Baltic States (Estonia/Lithuania) and mixed Macedonia/Montenegro- oops!

I never really like doing these since it is no fun competing when most of anandtech somehow always ends up in the 95th percentile of any challenge presented, weird.

99 on Europe, missed a lot of the eastern countries.

55 on Africa, but I think most of that was guess work from missing some earlier in the quiz.

I bet most of us would do poorly in the Africa quiz. I was floored by how little of the geography I knew of Africa. I am reasonably knowledgeable of all the other continents.

129/138 on Europe -- Missed Macedonia and Moldovia
68/162 on Africa -- I had never even heard of Seyechulles (forgot how they spelled it) and Cameroos
