Dutch Supporter and very happy about the group they are in!

Standard ATOT response :

USA is not playing- do not care.

Is there any potential to see women playing with big balls? No? Don't care.

Damn, Ireland got hosed! Can't wait for this tournament, so much better than the World Cup!

Group B is definitely a killer, A is boring/weak-ish. C and D are well balanced with a couple of great match-ups.
Plenty of great games ahead though, looking forward 🙂

People who aren't into this shouldn't worry, I'm sure some channel will be showing 'How I met your mother' reruns 😛

You can get good odds for Denmark though 🙂

@davmat787
Hungary? One would have to dig into the history books to find out when was the last time they competed at a major tournament, I don't even know a single player and I follow major European leagues...

1986 WC in Mexico...Hungary lost to USSR 1:6

I've got my fingers crossed that we(Denmark) pull another '92, but my hopes are not that high.

Keep on dreaming...best done while you asleep, if you dream while you awake - needs medical attention.

If german players would quit running and scoring...your dreams may become true...

1991: USSR loses Hungary

You just love living in the past glory of the old USSR, don't you Gintaras? And speaking of the past, are you familiar with what happened in 1956 in the Olympics? When Hungary kicked the ass out of the USSR in Water Polo, upsetting the heavily favored Russians and went on to win Gold? The Blood In The Water Match? The summer olympics in Melbourne where Hungarians were cheered by everyone due to the 1956 revolution against the soviet occupiers?

Or did state run news block that?

FFs, Holland, Portugal, Germany and Denmark in the same group? What were they thinking? Its outright retarded, ALL of them are good candidates to the title

As much as I love the hype Portugal has been getting lately, theyre not gonna make it lol they always lose against germany, and holland is a tough cookie... That group will probably end like Germany > Holland > Portugal > Denmark

It was a seeded draw, but still a draw, so some amount of chance is there. I think they shouldn't have put Poland and Ukraine in the first pot just because they're hosts. Group B ended up tough mostly at the expense of group A that's the easiest.
It's pretty hard to avoid at least one strong group, look at the teams - in C you have Spain and Italy, Croatia as 1/4-finalist from last Euro, in group D France and England, and Sweden ain't bad either, Ukraine might not be as good as Denmark on paper, but they're playing all their games home. Except for A, none of the others are cakewalks for any team...
It could have been worse if say France was in group B instead of Denmark, which could have happened.

Groups with FIFA rankings in parentheses:
Group A: Poland (66), Greece (14), Russia (12), Czech Republic (33).
Group B: Netherlands (3), Denmark (11), Germany (2), Portugal (7).
Group C: Spain (1), Italy (9), Croatia (8), Ireland (21).
Group D: Ukraine (55), Sweden (18), France (15), England (5).
