Eureka!

Today I learned that there is a :light: icon in the header of every post and that if the light is lit, that user is reading or writing the AT forums right then or recently. I'm a lifer and 'til this very hour, I did not know this.

Too bad we're moving to vbulletin and it soon will be yet one more piece of obsolete knowledge clogging my brain.

It used to be funny how people behaved or misbehaved depending on whether the mod light was on or off. Too bad they didn't know we got a dimmer switch installed.

I used to live in Arcata which is a great little town, then next to it is Eureka which is like the a white trash ghetto of Fubu-wearing 14 year old kids of meth addicts, but they also have a smelter which makes the whole town smell of shit. They do have a great brewery there though and some nice frisbee golf courses.

I spent three weeks in Junction City but didn't make it any farther west. Patrick's Point looked like it might be worth visiting if I get back to the area. Have you been there?

I didn't go to Patrick's Point but I went to Trinidad a few times, and judging from the drive up 101 those places all seem equally awesome. Big redwoods, cliffs on the ocean, etc, I can't imagine how different they could be. "Worth visiting" depends on what the cost of the visit is in time and money, but it is definitely a great place to visit. Arcata is a food haven too since they blocked out all the chain restaurants and its just full of local eateries.
