I just downloaded and installed it today.

I really like the fact that I can choose the font and the size of the font but it's a heck of a lot more complicated than Mozilla Mail.

Any other major advantage of Eudora? I'm just getting into it.

Good to know. I have never used Outlook (Netscape/Mozilla fan).

Thanks for the input.

Tip: go into Tools > Options, click on Viewing Mail, and un-check "allow executables in HTML content." For even more safety, un-check "Use Microsoft Viewer."

Now you're not using IE as a message viewer so you're safe from scripts, ActiveX controls, and the million other exploits IE allows. The downside is some fancier HTML emails will be messed up, but when you need to see one shown properly:
* double click on the message subject to switch from preview pane to full view
* right-click and choose "send to browser"

Dad has been using Eudora Light 4.3 for over a decade. Nice little program. Unfortunately I tried their latest version and was not impressed. Most irritating issue was it would have to recreate my mailboxes for whatever reason everytime I started it.

Back to Outlook again :(

That's odd -- I've been using Eudora Pro 5 - 6 in sponsored mode (ads in the corner) for several years now and have never had that problem.

I've only used it less than 24 hours but all is well so far.

6.2 here.
