Eudora and IE8 problem

I am using IE8 on Win/XP . I use Mozzila Thunderbird (MT) and Eudora alternately for email . In order for IE8 to know which email program to use as the default , it needs to be set in two places: (i) in Windows in the Start menu and (ii) in IE via Tools and the path Options then Programs . If I set it to MT in these 2 places all is OK . If after this , I once use Eudora , it resets it in ii) to Eudora . Have looked in Eudora , but can't find any parameter for this . Can someone help please ?

Interesting. I use IE8 with XP/SP3. And I use Eudora and OE6. Incoming mail is on Eudora and outgoing mail is OE6. Neither one has any interface or interaction with IE8. When I check email with MailWasher Pro, then download after deleting crap from the server (before download) into Eudora. I then replay via OE6 on a split screen. IE8 is not even open. I guess I don't really understand your problem. My bad! 🙂

Thanks corkyg . When on a web page I sometimes wish to email whomever's site it is via an email address on the web page. Clicking on that address takes me straight to the default email program and opens a new message with the address already in it. It is this default email program which was being reset by Eudora all the time .
