EU spells out trade threat from China

China's lightning advance into the production of cars, computers and high-tech industry poses a serious threat to Europe's economic base, according to a report by the European Commission.

I dont think I have seen a TV manufactured from anywhere but China in my entire lifetime.

My Sharp TV is made in Mexico. My friend got an older model that was made in the US actually.

GM is looking at placing a Cadillac factory in China, mainly for production to sell to the Chinese. BUT, if it were to become something big (and CHEAP), I could see the corporate "money set" kick in and start exporting from China instead of building in the US. Very scary, considering how much the automotive industry still means to the US economy.

china is stealing theworld industrial base so that when the time comes they can declare war on us all and we won't be able to build guns and stuff. Its all an evil plot. We should nuke them while we still have a chance.

They are securing massive oil and weapons deals all around the world... They are being diplomatic while we are trying the bully method..

I wonder who will win in the end?

Products are being manufacturing in China becuase they currently have a large pool of cheap labor, but it won?t be as lucrative once the Chinese have a taste of the Western life style.

China quickly learn that bullying doesn't work after the Spratly Islands experience, because that conflict cool relations with many ASEAN members.
