Normally EZ Firewall (EZ FW) dynamically opens and closes ports. From the Programs Panel, when you give an application rights to access the Internet, that application will be designated as trusted. If the application requires incoming connections to function correctly, then you may also need to apply server rights. This can be found in the Programs panel. EZ Firewall will allow you to open specific ports (this is basically opening a small hole in the firewall, to let certain incoming connections take place).
To do this, please follow these instructions:
Go to Firewall -> Main -> Internet Zone Security.
Click on the Custom button.
Under the ?High Security for Internet Zone? heading, scroll down to where the following settings are listed:
Allow incoming UDP ports
Allow outgoing UDP ports
Allow incoming TCP ports
Allow outgoing TCP ports
Check the box beside the desired setting (to open ports for a specific program, check the software manufacturer's support site for specific port information.
A field will appear below, where you can type in a port or range of ports.
Click OK.
