Crap!!!! Morning meetings FTL!!!

you had to have bot yesterday. it popped pre-market.

I had $5,000 left in free cash so I'm trying to add to my $20,000 position. Have a limit of $4.05 and now $4.10 and the g. damn thing won't bid under $4.11.

In addition to my holdings i scalped 20 cents today at 4k shares. I think I'm done daytrading this though. I'll just hold til it recovers to like 6.

It just filled a few minutes ago. Figures when I post to complain it does. I have 6,544 shares now at a dollar cost average of $3.82. Just going to ride this thing.

EDIT: Haha, didn't realize this till now, this was my 1,000th post! I'm a Golden Member! Weeeeee! Ok, back to our regularly scheduled program...

ETFC is breaking out. *High Five*

::Azurik high fives JS80. $4.33, verrrrrry niiiice. I liiike. Now stop trading in and out some of your position for .10! 😉

When you think about it, ETFC's tank Friday and yesterday came at a pretty ideal time. The market was in a free fall already, add to that the comments from the Citi analyst along with the company's admission on their CDO issue - it just exerbated the selling pressure to the point of undervaluing E*Trade's stock price by a mile. Good opportunity to pick up shares.

I'm not stating we're good to go from here. This subprime garbage is a mess and financials are ugly. It is still a very high risk, high reward investment... or gamble. Still, valuing E*Trade last night at just over a billion dollars was something else.

No bragging though about yesterday's trade - just happy. It could go either way from here.

I didn't. I still have the 6,544 shares. I actually had a question on that since I don't buy options all that much. You bought Jan 09 options "in the money"? What was your reasoning for that if you could enlighten me.

And it's coming near $5 right now - $4.73 right now. For those who don't know, that's the minimum price a lot of funds can pick up a stock.

Thats a pretty strong breakout. But are people going to sell into it or buy into it? Could be a lot people wanting to unload their holdings and figure now is the perfect time.

I usually like options that are marginally above the money. The next highest option was 5 and I thought it was too OTM and the premium was much higher than on the 2.50 call. But either should make money.

A TON of people I know started buying this when it was tanking a while back. We're talking around the $10 range and some last week at the $8 range. There's a lot more vested interest in those ranges than where we are here IMHO.

I did my first trade today and I bought 20 shares of ETrade at 4.05 using ETrade. The funny thing is that I'm actually up a few cents after commission costs. In hind sight, I should have dumped $1000 into ETFC instead of $80.

And yes, I already realize I'm a trading nub. I'll probably move to Zecco to take advantage of the free and cheap trades.

Dear Wallstreet Santa Clause,

I'm not that greedy. If the stock floats around these ranges into the close, I'll be happy. I'll be even more happier if you could present the overall market with a follow-through buying day for tomorrow.

Love,
Azurik

P.S. - I have been very nice this year. No coals please.

You're a good guy txrandom 🙂 You remind me of my earlier youth. I use to play with a few hundred here and there and went up from there. That's how you learn.

Too bad your commission fee is like 13% of your buy. At least you're having fun 🙂

Broke out of it's minor consolidation. It's over $4.80 now.

dip, flush out short term holders, spike up, rinse, repeat.

I just put a large amount of money into a CD unfortunately. After I sell ETrade, I'll probably move to Zecco for the $4.95 trades and 10 free trades if your account is over $2500 per month. The $12.99 commission wiped out any profit.

How does a buyout work? Does the potential buyer just have to buy 51% of the shares. If a buyout does happen, will ETrade gain a lot?
