Ethernet won't work on new comp (DFI LP board)

Just finished building my new comp, but I couldn't get my internet to work. In the connections tab in the control panel, it said that the only high speed connection was my 1394 port, not either of the two gigabyte ethernet ports.

I installed a pci eithernet card and now internet works. But I would like to know how to get it to work through the integrated connection.

I checked the BIOS and didn't see a way to enable (or disable it), so I am out of ideas.

Thanks for the help!

On my gigabyte board (Award BIOS) there is an option to enable/disable the onboard NIC on a seperate page of settings for "Integrated Peripherals." You might want to look for something similar.

I'd be surprised if it was disabled by default, though. Maybe a problem with the hardware, or you might need to install a driver (actually, XP should detect the hardware if there is no driver installed).
