Was looking for some quality, competitive team based action; this game has it all.

None of that ridiculous orb spamming in UT3 Warfare or Manta pancaking while everybody does their own thing and hopefully your team wins. Id clearly put a lot of thought into the gameplay of this title and the complexity shows. It's class based: be an engineer and repair things, a medic and heal people, a covert ops and snipe, a soldier and just run and gun...the game is such that you are forced to work together; ie no engineer can go build a bridge without strategic support from the soldiers and covert ops.

I've been very impressed with the above average intelligence level of the players in this game. Dedicated playerbase too, haven't had any trouble finding several full 24 player servers with a good ping. If you're looking for a team experience that you won't find in another random FPS (UT3: Warfare; VCTF, etc), then this definitely is for you.

Beware, this game has a BIG learning curve and is not for the faint of heart.

TLDR: Buy it

For another alternative, check your local Big Lots. My local store always has multiple copies of ET-QW for $6.

I can confirm this, saw a few copies in my local Big Lots for this price the other day.

If ET QW has too many splash screens upon startup, give GNag a try and let us know how it goes.

It only has an opening video, it's the game-exiting-advert that kills me. I'm not a software programming person at all so I'm not sure I could help any with this.

Take a look at the game's install folders and see if there are any biks, wmvs, avis, etc. that might be labeled in such a way that you suspect them of being the exit videos. If you can rename those or place a blank file of the same type in its place to make them go away, let me know and I can create a definition for it and credit you (or whoever figures it out) the discovery. I would do it myself, but I do not own the game.😀

I was a hardcore Wolfenstein Enemy Territory player.

The vehicle combat in QW:ET was a huge turn off for me.

Great game, played over 1000 hours of it. Absolute steal for $6. I payed $50 for it on steam when it came out. I am also one of its top players 😀

also, If you buy it on steam, you can play it on a regular install buy logging in with your account. I do that, as steam had some issues with it for me.
Vehicles are a big part of the game, though not everything. I am very good with the anansi, I call it the roflcopter. I am top 20 with it.

i loved the original Enemy Territory. i spent years with it and the various maps people created were pretty good too
i thought about trying this one.. until i read some of the comments above

So was I! That was the only FPS I played for a few years (besides whatever gets played at LAN parties) until TF2 came out. I was almost a regular at the QAW Originals server.

ET:QW is quite different from WolfET. You can't go into it thinking it will be the same thing, otherwise it will be difficult to enjoy the game. Approach it as a totally new game/franchise and enjoy! I actually really liked ET:QW even though I sucked at it. Unfortunately it never really took off at LAN parties like the beta/demo did, and my online gaming time got sucked down by TF2, then COD4 and now L4D.
