Hi all,

Can someone estimate/tell me the temperature of an Athlon 1.33Ghz CPU with an ambient temperature between 30-32C using a normal HSF? Will it be higher than 45C?

Thanks.

Depends on what case you're using, whether it's open or closed, and/or how much airflow it's getting.

Worst case scenario: You'll be like one of my friends who was running his T-Bird at +80C.

Not sure bout the casing, I guess uhh... a "normal" casing? {g} The casing will be opened at all times. Not much airflow i.e. you won't see any fans blowing into the case...

In your case, 49- 52 C.
Mine with Fop32-1 closed case with normal case cooling (one fan on the front of the case and one fan on the back with room temp of 80+F) reads 47C idle on the 1.4Ghz T-bird@ 1.5

That's not too bad. I would think that it'll go up to 55+. What if you didn't turn on the case fans? How high will it go?

oh.. probably right at 55C as u mentioned or higher.. With the ambient temp stuffy and hot in the case, blowing stuffy hot air to the processor.., i would say 55C - 60C ?... just my estimation.

Ambient temp=32C, case temp=42C, CPU temp f/load=55C. Case open, case fan on. This could be the estimate temp.

I'll second what's been said already.

Maybe a 45C idle with case open. Expect it to go up to 52C under load. (Talking from experience)
With your case closed an easy 60C +

55 isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I would expect the temp to go way up to 65-70 degrees.

Anyone knows how that would compare to a PIII 1Ghz system?

well, I have tried running my P3 1Ghz@ 1350 with NO fan on the SK6 but the system is naked.. with no case, I get 30- 32C. this is crazy.. but it works just fine as long as I don't run burn-in test. I put the Delta fan back on and back in business for all apps.

1000@1350@1.95Vcc with the fan, I get 24.5C idle, 35C full load, 42- 44C burn-in load. i luv it =)

Without the fan, it crashed during bur-in test after 20- 25min. So this shows enough stability with the fan at this clocked speed. I hardly had any problems at 1370mhz but i thought it would be better to lower it a little and let it run hard for weeks and maybe I can crank it up between 1370 and 1400. Im just not going to push it too hard at the moment..
 Plus I need more Vcore to get it running at higher speed than where im at.

Very cooling indeed ;) What's your idle temp anyway? I've tried on my Cel900 @ 1200 and it hits around 50C in at an ambient temp of around 28-30C. Your temps are unbelievably low.

when you asked me about the full load, I wasn't sure u were talking about with the fan or without it. So i fixed my last post to be clear. .. and the idle temp was alread posted when u asked.. yeah it sure is at good low temperature! :D

Kewl. Guess I'll have to need a cooler temp for my Cel coz it hung after 2 hours of full load. Was using a Taisol coz found out that the stock fan which came with the heatsink (which is HUGE btw) runs at 2700 RPM.... Pathetic eh?
