I think excellent is 775+

I heard like 2 hours of talk about this stuff on a radio program. When I opened an account at the bank, they asked what my credit score was and I had no idea. They ran a search for it and said it was 798 and I could get a loan whenever I wanted.

Congratulations! According to the information you provided, lenders will likely perceive you as having GOOD credit! While you may not qualify for the best interest rates that lenders offer, you should have little problem getting favorable loan rates and terms.

id say thats not bad for being 22 and not haveing a job

I would be content if mine were 700+ but that won't happen until:

I get my head out of my ass.
Payoff and close some cc's.
Stop applying for cc's.
Stop buying 20 digicams at a time with a laptop here and there.

One miracle at a time.

Well, I've paid off all of my bills/loans quickly. I had a $1500 medical bill over 24 months and I made $500, $500, $250, and $250 payments in the first four months. I've had 3 loans and I paid them all off in less than half of the allotted time.

Being single is cool. ;)

That's about what I got: 705-755. I've never actually had it checked, so I'm not sure how accurate it really is. Judging by the responses in this thread though, it shouldn't be far off. Not bad for a 23 y/o college kid :)

Yeah I saw that you had the same score range as me, and it said you have excellent credit... Now I look and yours says excellent and good. Now I'm confused. :)

Your estimated FICO® score range is: 595 to 645 :(
According to the information you provided, lenders will likely perceive you as being a MODERATELY HIGH CREDIT RISK. While you have a reasonable chance of obtaining loans from some lenders, you will pay high interest rates compared to most consumers, and may have to pay higher down payments for major purchases like your car or home.

Most of the questions had student loans as an example of what to use...so I included them. that would make a huge difference in mine if i were not including them.

In order to use the FICO® Score Estimator you must have at least one account which has been open for six months or more. This requirement is designed to ensure that there is sufficient recent information to provide a robust and accurate FICO score estimate.

hmph. :p

Well, looking to the future.. I changed the relevant answer to "have had it for at least 6 months", and answered all the questions honestly.... since I'm psychic. ;)

Your estimated FICO® score range is: 610 to 660.

Fine with me. ;) Only have 1 CC and no other debt.

I think it doesn't count until you start the repayment

And that's pretty accurate. About a month ago, my actual FICO was 585.

Reasons for my low score:
1 maxed out CC
1 account referred to collections about 2 months ago from a medical bill for $30 that I somehow missed.
Multiple late payments on credit cards and loans, some over 90 days late. The most recent late payment was about 2 years ago though.
Multiple new credit card and loan apps in the last year.

EDIT: The good news is that when I bought my house about 16 months ago, my actual FICO was 475. So 100 points improvement in a year is not bad at all. Lucky for me, the FHA only looks in detail at the most recent 2 years of credit history so they approved me because they saw that I had been much better recently.

695 - 745 as I believe I had one account forwarded to a collection agency. I returned a DVD in 2000 to a rental place. They claimed I never returned it, eventually putting an $87 balance on my account before they closed it. I still say they lost it or it was stolen after I dropped it through the slot. "Sampson Simpson, I stick by my story!"

730 - 780 if that's not counted. :)

Not bad, my score was right in the middle of that last time I checked.

I was wondering about that too... I started paying my loans off 6 months ago... But I've HAD the loan since my freshman year. In this context, would that be considered a 5 year old loan, or a 6 month old loan? (Note: I'm asking about question 2, not question 6 like iamwiz82 was)

I guess it is pretty close. Last time I checked about 2 years ago, my score was around 720. I only hope it went up from that time.
