Well i'd assume from his rant that while he was reading the teleprompter someone or a few people walked back in forth in front of him (but behind the camera) and even went underneath the teleprompter he was using, thus distracting him.

I hate Chris Berman. Back in the day he used to be the best at what he does, but he hasn't changed at all in the last 15 years. Same old cliche' terms, always ad-libbing someone's name, etc. That stuff used to be funny and interesting to watch, but now the whole schtick is just tired.
