they have been showing stuff that isn't a sport, but rather a "hobby" or "activity" or "game" for years now. why does this surprise you?

and those of you saying golf is not a sport, i challenge you to a golf match and i'll show you how much of a sport it is.

Brilliant response on golf. So if someone were able to completely trash you at street fighter 2, does that make street fighter 2 a sport?

trust me, you won't be able to completely trash me at SF2 🙂 and last itme i checked, SF2 was a video game, not a video sport.

and no, thats not a sport. atleast in golf you are walking a few miles while playing the damn game. golf is a sport, its the richmans sport. haven't you heard that before? (i'm by no means rich either heh, but right now, golf is my favorite sport by far).

Wife and I went out to dinner last night. They had this on the 65" TV sitting right in front of us displaying in all of it's High Def glory.

Contests of glutoney are not exactly appetite stimulants.

It's revolting on so many levels.

Golf is also a game. I do think it's a sport, but I don't see how a person challenging someone else to golf would prove whether it's a sport or not. Perhaps you might want to rethink that line of reasoning a bit.

and baseball is a game, and football is a game, and so is basketball. perhaps you might not want to take these forums so seriously and not take every comment you read on an anonymous forum so seriously?

here, i'll spell out what I was "implying" by my statement.

I was trying to make the point that golf takes skill to be good at and that its not just something you can play (like a board game) and win just as easily as others can win.

them showing this does not surprise me. someone coming on and saying that competitive eating is a sport and that the participants are athletes is what i have a beef about. please read the thread before making a fool of yourself.

Hey, I'm not the one who got so bent out of shape when someone suggested golf is not a sport and then in order to prove that it is challenged someone to paly it. I don't remember anyone questioning the skill involved in golf, by the way. Only whether it is a sport.

Most of the things mentioned as not being sports do require skill. Chess, for example. Or your own example, archery.

Yup. They buried the NHL when it was on there, but Competitive Eating, Spelling Bee and stuff all get prominent placement.

Yeah, I took it real seriously in my reply. It clearly shows. Or maybe I just like making fun of people who make unusually unsound points.
