15, but mostly because it was multiple choice, which is inherently candy assed.

For instance, on #12 I still don't know what the right word means and didn't know it was a word prior to the test (and I have a frightfully huge . . . vocabulary.)

I just knew the other three definitely weren't words, although one was but one letter off from being a word.

9/13 (I'm discounting the two sports players because I have never heard of them due to not being from the Americas).

fail! 10/15. One was the minor league catcher whom I've never heard of, but I did get all of the guess the right words. (I knew 4 of them)

personnel and reconnaissance have always given me trouble.

Actually, Salty's already been in the majors with Texas. Honestly, though, the multiple choice format helped me pick the correct spelling. If I had been forced to spell his name from scratch, the chances of me fucking up would have been not insignificant.

All I know is that I'm going to start including "shadoink" and "wampoustic" in my every day vocabulary, even if they aren't real words. The just sound cool

7 lol. I've never heard of either of those people, so I have no idea how I'm supposed to be expected to answer that without hearing the name.

11/13, as I'm not counting the 2 questions about how to spell people's names I never heard of.

10/15. Those names are absurd.

Well, to be fair, it is ESPN, it is baseball season, and they are major league ball players . . . but, yeah, they did pick tough ones.

would it be fair to say that this ESPN spelling contest is particularly jejune?
