ESPN Biased?

Is ESPN Biased? Their coverage of the ALDS with the BoSox and Angels is totally skewed towards Boston. As an angel's fan, it sickens me. Do we have to have constant chatter about how great the Sox are? What about the angels? They are losing, but they don't deserve the recognition that the Sox get?

The only one that I know of is Peter Gammons. Gammons is a closet Red Sox fan.....or maybe by now he's admitted his obvious bias at some point in time on Baseball Tonight. As far as anyone else on ESPN goes, I haven't heard enough to be able to say either way. With that said, the Red Sox have been playing some solid baseball lately and do deserve to be talked about, but the Angels deserve to be talked about too with the season that they've had.

I actually don't think that ESPN is biased. I live in SoCal and have had a chance to watch the Angels just about every day. They are my local team and I really want them to win, but to be honest, the BoSox are just a better team. Gammons and Harold Reynolds aren't being biased, they are just saying that the better team is going to win.

I just think its funny because everybody on the east coast is always so concerned about the Yankees and the Red Sox. They seem to think that whoever comes out of the AL is going to win. Its going to be great when St. Louis wins the World Series. They have been the best team all year and they still get no love.

Yeah, ESPN is biased. But it's a general East coast favoritism, and West coast haterism. It's BS. Part of it has to do with the different time zones though. Because most of what happens here, happens while the East Coast is sleeping.

However, ESPN is a pile of garbage. It's a monopoly of sorts, and because of it they can get away with garbage just because they can. Such as Dream Job and Stuart Scott (He says Boo Yah again, there's going to be a hate crime. Not because he's black, but because he's a douche, it's a hate crime against douches). Anyways, I'm willing to put up with that crap because it's a small price to pay to live in California.

You know. I'm watching the game and I didn't think it was too bad. I am from Boston too. I think Boomer, Gwynn and what's his name (Sutcliffe?)suck as play by play and general game announcers though. They are too afraid to hurt someone's feelings. When the speak of any and every player, you'd think they are talking about the best players in the game. And your team's not losing anymore at the time of this message, heh heh. Change of heart, perhaps?

and Peter Gammons is not a closet Red Sox fan, he is from Boston and has season tickets to Sox games. I don't think there is any question....

Do we have to have constant chatter about how great the Sox are?

They are great though, aren't they? They're seriously the best team in baseball on paper (behind the yankees maybe?) Let us live a little for Pete's sakes. We haven't won a freakin' championship in 85 years. I'd hope more than just Massachusetts people are pulling for us here .........

Yup the commentary for the game sucks. They talk as if Kevin Millar, Damon, and Lowe are the best players ever in the game. C'mon now.

Funny, I thought the game was slightly red sox biased until vlad hit that homer, then it became so pro-angel that it was awful. They couldn't go three minutes without mentioning it and how the Sox thought they had this game put away... Chris Berman pisses me off because he says stuff like "the red sox can have this one done by dinnertime" and then, later, berates the Sox and fans for thinking the game was going to be so easy.

They really just need new commentators that don't sound like cd players stuck on repeat.

I think Espn is consistently biased towars the bigger markets....yanks etc...

just the nature of the beast though......for good local coverage watch a local sports showw on foxsports...whatever....on second thought....don't do that either most of the guys on those shows are kool-aid drinking homers....sorry I guess if your not a Red Sox, Yankees,or Cubs fan you can't get decent coverage....I know it sucks I'm not a fan of any of the above.
