ESPN 360 is provided as a courtesy of my internet provider?

Huh! I remember a while back seeing something from Comcast saying I would be getting "free" ESPN 360. Now I see a popup telling me I have it.
So I decide to check it out and watch a game replay. And the first thing I notice are commercials!
If you pay for ESPN360 do you get commercials?
And the movenetworks player they have sucks, doesn't it?
Anyone pay for ESPN360? Is it any good?

This is a big bag of shit. They are basically charging the ISP to allow access to their video networks. So rather than ESPN dealing with calls from customers, the ISP has to deal with the calls and then make the decision on getting that service for their customers.

The last pricing we got was $0.13/customer, which isn't bad... Still it is a very slippery slope.

VERY INTERESTING, TwiceOver!
If I am reading it correctly, as an individual you can't "subscribe" to it, your ISP must "subscribe" for you. And thus for every one of the ISP's customers.

Yes. We cannot sign up just a handful of customers, we have to pay for our entire customer base. Which they can look up through our FCC filings.

It is kinda like one cable provider having ESPN and another not having it because they don't want to pay the fees. It is a scary situation that I'm hoping will be declared illegal by the new FCC chief who is "supposedly" in favor of Net Neutrality.

I would gladly sign up for espn360, but my isp doesn't carry it (time warner...who else?).

I can watch espn360 at work, but I want to watch it at home.

I just watched the FIBA championship game.

International basketball is much different and far less skilled, but very entertaining to say the least.

Of course Comcast would love to provide it's customers with streaming ESPN 360.. oh, and to also cap their bandwidth usage. ;)

hmm, Comcast here in the Bay Area. Need to check out if true. I'm so used to Comcast throttling content and providing 30% of what the others provide.

Frankly, though, I wish they'd just increase their HD content to respectable levels.

I can watch espn360 at work, but I want to watch it at home.

You might be able to watch it at home. ESPN360 has that login thing so if you type in your work info (if it's available to you) at home along with the work ISP, you can still watch it as part of a roaming plan or whatever.

I am strictly on OTA and whatever TV I can find on the internet. It's awesome that I can watch live sporting events on ESPN360 because I have AT&T as my ISP. I watched the (painful) OU game last weekend, which would not have been possible without ESPN360.
