Escapist just posted Yahtzees latest Zero Punctuation.

I agree with Yahtzee... it's amazing, and worth every minute's wait of these past 12 years. I can't stop playing!!! ARRRGH!

DUKE NUKEM FOREVAAAR

Srsly, the only way for 3DRealms to redeem themselves will be if D4E suddenly shows up on the shelves and is as great as many(including myself) expected it to be.

I like the interview where 3drealms devs used World of Warcraft as an excuse for not working on the game. And didn't one of the devs own a porsche [thought they posted pix of running their cars at the local drag strip] - this was back when JC of idsoftware posted about modifying his ferrari.

My guess is they squandered the money in hookers, cars, games, food, and lots of coke [drinkable stuff]. 🙂

Alas - it's true - any other company could've popped out duke 4ever in a few years... It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know what the freakin storyline would be - chicks, aliens, pigs, and lots of explosions/blood.

wow, that'd be epic...no release of ANY kind, they just pop up DN4E on the shelves...I would love to see that.

It'd probably sell decently at first just on the hype and name, even if it was complete crap. It'd be to their benefit to release that way.

exactly.

that's the thing. they could've just outsourced this game to a competent developer (like they've done many times in the past) and made millions. but they didn't.

i really want to know how an entire company can survive for ten years with zero income and a staff of oxygen-depraved morons (there's no oxygen present in your own ass, right?).

I think their income came from the donations to sperm banks that came from cleaning off their keyboards.

Problem is they can't. T2 owns publishing rights to the game, and T2 sure as hell isn't going to silent launch a high profile title in the hopes that it generates revenue. They want their $10 mil back.

According to 3drealms, they never got the $10 mil.

Yup, T2 paid GT Interactive(IIRC) for those Rights. So, if all true, it is GT Interactive(long gone I believe) and not 3DRealms who sold T2 bunk goods.
