While I was installing SUSE 64 bit, I came across some errors at the very end:
These Pakcages returned an Error

xtermset
xlockmore
xinetd
xmms
xscreensaver
xine-lib
xmms-kde
xntp
xsane
yast2-packagemanager
yast2-qt
yast2-ncurses
yast2-core
yast2
yast2-idap
yast2-perl-bindings
yast2-pam
yast2-printer
yast2-country
yast2-mouse
yast2-control-center
yast2-profile-manager
yast2-bootloader
yast2-packager
yast2-network
yast2-nis-client

then a dos looking window came up I got this message:
Linuxrc v1.6 kernel 2.6.4-52 default
an error occured during the intsallation!

I hit OK and it lets me boot to my installation. I couldn't get X to run, I got this message:

There is no link /var/x11r6/bin/X to the correct X server binary. Please configure
the correct X Server with Sax/SaX2, which will create teh missing link, i'm aborting now.

so i said what the hell, and typed in SaX2, thank God tahts all I needed to do! X is now up and running, I'm trying to configure my network (another thread here), but the 1,000,000 I can't boot when I restart!!! I have to put in my installatin Cd, boot up with that as if i'm installing, then when it recognizes I got it installed, it asks me if I want to boot. I'm guessing some things didn't get installed which stopped my comptuer from recognizing my HD as a bootable drive or whatever, any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Your boot loader is not installed.

I would reinstall a boot loader with YaST, and I might try LILO instead of GRUB.

You didn't give us any errors to go off of. Hocp might have mind readers, but there aren't any that I know of on Anandtech.

Some errors occured during the install, and it is hard hard to tell from the minilmal information, but I suspect you are having issues with your hard drive partitioning, or possible network errors (bad router) leading to corruption of some of the downloaded/installed files. One issue: there have been some reports of ReiserFS problems with AMD64, so I would stick with EXT3 for now, in SuSE. I had similar errors on a SuSE install, and they went away when I selected EXT3. I wish SuSE would allow XFS filesystem install, but they don't. I have been using XFS with Mandrake, no problems.
