ERROR: Server does not support RFC 5746

Hello,

My sister is trying to access her work's Intranet from home but whenever she is at the site, it times out after 60 seconds. This only occurred after switching to Comcast broadband from Verizon DSL.

When I checked the error console in Firefox 3.6, the error is "Server does not support RFC 5746, see CVE - 2009.3555" When I Googled this, the results told me that it had something to do with TSL/SSL, renegotiation, hand-shake, etc. This leads me to believe it is a security issue between Comcast and her company intranet. My sister's company intranet is www.gounimatic.com (it redirects to log-in page). After log-in, a new window pops up and this screen is a DOS-based system (black screen and keyboard-use only) and uses Java-applet. The Java is up to date, version 6 I think.

I've tried to disable couple of the security settings in Firefox but unsuccessfully:

- disabled SSL and TSL but then page won't load
- changed Firefox's about:config "Security.SSL.Require_Safe_Negotiation" to 'false' but page won't load either

She is using Firefox 3.6 on Windows Vista on Sony VIAO. I've also tried using IE and Safari on a Mac and the intranet still times out after 60 seconds. This never happened on Verizon DSL so it's definitely Comcast. When the site is accessed in other locations with other ISPs (hotels, cafes,) it works fine without timing out.

Any suggestions or work-around?

Thanks.

The hyperlink you provided goes to an OWA site...not sure if you made a mistake typing the link. But gounimatic.com goes to a site that has a Help Desk phone number to call if you're having problems logging in. I would start by calling that number...someone is getting paid to solve these problems.
