Error on Linux Mandrake 8.1 installation

I am trying to install Linux Mandrake 8.1, but I'm getting this weird error when it is booting to install it says

"error in exec of stage2 :-(
FATAL ERROR IN STAGE1: Not a directory

I can't recover from this.
You may reboot your system."

I have ran a couple distributions of linux in the past on other machines, but always went back to Windows because I couldn't get on the internet(winmodem). If you want to see the specs then look at my rigs link, it is the Super Gaming Rig.
 
Do you still have the images you burned from? (I'm guessing you burned from an image)

I had to download 2 of the discs about 3 times because some sites had bad md5 sum copies up. Sucks.. and they SEEM to be fine except for a little error, perhaps one like you just had.

But if you still have the images, check them out with the checksums and see if they're intact.
