I am trying to install a Brother MFC 7300c to a machine running Windows 2000 Pro. It says right on the box that this MFC is Windows 2000 Pro compatible. After trying to install the drivers from the CD which came with the printer (with no luck), I went to Brother's website where they explain that the drivers that shipped with the printer will not work. I need to download the drivers from their website. This I do. I also download their utility which uninstalls any other drivers for the printer and I run that first. I then go to install the new drivers and right at the end when it looks like it is going to work I get the message

An error occurred during the installation of the device.

This operation requires an interactive window station.

What the heck does this mean?

The printer now shows up in my Printers folder in Control Panel but when I try to print, nothing happens...

Please help!

I ran the program to uninstall the drivers again and then reinstalled after rebooting (Windows recognized the new hardware). The last time I loaded the drivers, I did not reboot between the uninstall and reinstall. Perhaps that is what caused the problem. The MFC appears to be functioning correctly now.
