Error Message Printing to an ECP Parallel Printer Port (Q304632) - Problem

After my computer has been on for a while I get this problem...

Have you tried to disable ECP mode on the printer port as Microsoft suggest? Try putting it to EPP or Bi-Dir mode instead.

i have ecp disabled. the printer works find if i do a nice clean reboot.

if i leave the computer on overnight, then try to print the next day, i receive the the error meassage. i need to reboot.

i am thinking about buying a pci ecp parallel controller card. think that will solve my problems??
