Error 1608 in Partition Magic 7 in XP

Here's the deal. I tried partitioning an 11 gig hd on a laptop(into 2 partitions, 4 gig for one, 7 gig for the other, both NTFS) so I installed PM7. I did what I was supposed to do(made new partition size, etc...), hit apply, said changes would take place when I reboot. So I did, when it does, it runs a batch file on startup then it gave me a 1608 error and it just rebooted. When it did reboot, it ran CHKDSK, fixed some errors, and rebooted again. So again it reboots, and now it doesnt even get to the WinXP spalsh screen, just keeps rebooting over and over again. Anyone know what might be going wrong here?
