I have a computer with:
-Leadtek nVidia 6800 GT (416/1130)
-2.8 ghz Pentium 4
-Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Value
-Western Digital Caviar 80 Gb
-1 Gb of some sort of generic RAM
I have been having problems with BF 2 ever since I bought the 6800 GT. The computer is running on a clean install of Win XP Home. The demo had been having the same problems. The framerate is usually very stable (75-100 fps) when I am not in combat, in vehicles, or generallly around other players. In these situations the framerate sticks around 20-35. In combat, where you need good performance most, the rates are so low it's basically unplayable. I don't have any other problems, no crashes or anything like that, just this strange issue. I can get good framerates, in non-combat situations, with High settings with 4x AA and 1280 x 960 at 60hz. I was able to help my performance by manually disabling V-Sync ( it seems to be on by default), but not to a large extent in combat. Has anybody else had these problems? Or, does anybody has a remedy for them?
