It was from August ...oops. So I went online to the site where it said I could pay, but when I entered the ticket number the site says "There is no balance due on the ticket".

How does that work? I'm assuming these things don't just go away.

edit: I should mention I wasn't even the person driving. So I could still send it in with proof it wasn't me. The date says I needed to do that by August 8th - is it even worth it?

Where was it from? I'm not familiar with everywhere, but I know Arizona photo radar tickets are not technically valid unless they're actually served by a law enforcement officer.

This is in Colorado. I actually am not sure if they'd find me, since I moved last July and haven't changed my mailing address yet. I did have everything forwarded til about mid last month.

Don't take this as an official/credible statement, but I just found this:

Photo-radar ruling against city upheld
By Sue Lindsay, Rocky Mountain News
November 5, 2002
The Colorado Supreme Court Monday refused to hear the city's appeal of a lower court ruling dismissing four photo-radar tickets.
Last January, Denver County Judge Mary Celeste dismissed the $40 tickets because they weren't issued by police officers, as required by current law.

FWIW.

I don't think that applies here. The violation notice says that the vehicle was observed by a "Complainant Officer" and there is a name and badge listed. Still, presumably that officer would have to show up in court, right? Perhaps he didn't show and I caught a break.

you're fine. It probably was dismissed AFTER a filing due to a blurry pic or something along those lines.

We only have to show up if you plea not guilty. Might be worth a call to the DMV to make sure your license isn't suspended... :p
