We met fortunately before I converted to Ferengi-ism so it was a little easier.

If you have to go through INS dont use your credit card. Just save a dollar a week and by the time INS gets around to answering you, you will have saved up enough money for you and your grand kids to go along with your parents. Anybody here that has had to deal with INS knows that this was not meant to be a joke :disgust:

I've had to deal with those INS retards with my wife's emmigration to the USA from Australia.

Finally said fsck it, went down under and got married there, was actually faster than doing it here.

Amen to that. We got married here in the US and it's just a big pain in the ass. I noticed they were quick to cash the checks though :|

It was even better in Australia at the U.S. Consulate in Sydney ... they would ONLY accept cash, just cash.

We couldn't bring our cell phones or walkie talkies into the facility. They had tight security and this was before 9/11.

In retrospect I'm glad that we did everything overseas.

If they're on permanent residency, don't waste your time contacting INS/BCIS, they're fine for re-entering the US with their permanet residency card (that pink card of theirs). Now the cruise line might requires them to bring a valid passport while travelling in the cruise, which should be a valid Korean Passport.
Don't know why the travel agent ask you to double check with the Korean Embassy, I mean, how does the Korean Embassy supposed to know what the cruise line's policy is or whatever the law in Bahama's, etc ?

Hes right, if your parent have a permanent residency status in the United states, then you dont need to contact anybody, all the hoops have already been jumped through.

Now as far as taking the card with you/passport/etc, I'm not sure. Why dont you just ask your parents about it? sort of like a "suppose this would happen, what then?" scenario. Just ask out of curiosity.

I would just like to point out that everybody seems to have forgotten that INS no longer exists as it and several other government organizations have been consolidated into the Department of Homeland Security. Considering it's headed by Tom Ridge I'd avoid mentioning that your parents are Korean if at all possible. :p

Seriously, it should be no problem as far as I know, mostly because (I hate to say it but it's true) your parents probably don't look hispanic or arab. If anything comes up immigration officials probably won't give them too much trouble as long as they have their passports and their residency cards. But calling DHS just to be sure probably wouldn't hurt. Not sure how to get ahold of them though. Try googling for it. ;)

You mean BCIS, not DHS to be more specific.
