I found it deep in my dorm fridge, probably about half a year old.. which should be fine but it just doesn't look so healthy right now.. the bottle is foggy with red residue and etc..

can i still eat it with my steak bomb?

Should be OK.

I seem to recall that tobasco sauce is aged in barrels for a long time, like wine.

Nope. The red residue you see is what is 'stuck' to the bottle.
I found a simalar bottle and broke it open just too make sure and it had mold grown in there.
