Eric Holder was probably the best AG we've had in years, in contrast to the criminals appointed by Republicans. Compare the records of Eric Holder and that of Alberto Gonzales, Michael Mukasey, or Ed Meese.

I'm going to be astounded if Holder has done anything for which he truly needs a Presidential pardon. I do suspect his going is due to his court loss on Fast And Furious, but if I had to lay money I'd bet that was instituted within the BATFE and Holder only gave arguably legal cover after the fact to prevent political damage. As with Christie, when someone under you does something political that ostensibly supports your position, nobody really believes you didn't do it or were at least silent while it was being done, but that's a far cry from actual criminal action. The cover up itself - well, unless he committed specific criminal acts Holder is clear, and he has a long Presidential/Executive Branch history to guide him on what is and what is not permissible. I don't think he'd intentionally cross that line and risk doing direct political damage to Obama (not to mention risking prison) to prevent indirect political damage to Obama.

I don't care for the man or his politics, but I've never considered him a criminal, even when he really, really pisses me off.

Well said, although technically his opinion is that only American citizens actively engaged in war against America AND in areas where American legal authority cannot be exercised are legal targets. This is war; you don't get a trial first in war.
