Eric Clapton has always been one of those artists that I like, but never really listened to all that much. Recommend me a few CDs/Songs by him that I probably haven't heard.
 
If I had a time machine, I'd go back and find whoever it was that told him singing falsetto worked for him, and beat the crap out of them. White Room is a great song, but it would be even better without the stupid falsetto.
 
Love Clapton. If you like live stuff, I'd highly recommend One More Car, One More Rider (Recorded in LA during his 2001 tour). This past year he also put out his biography, along with the CD "Complete Clapton" which is a CD compiled of some of his hits from Cream to his solo stuff to his recordings with J.J. Cale and B.B. King -- 36 tracks in total. I'd also recommend the classic Derek and the Dominoes 'Layla' album. Must have it if you're a Clapton fan 😉 A list of what you currently have now would be good.

Oh, I can't leave the thread without posting this video. Probably one of my favorite live solos from him. Enjoy. :thumbsup:
 
"Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs" by Derek & The Dominos is Clapton's high water mark. Many of the songs feature Duane Allman on slide guitar either as lead or dual lead with Clapton. You've just got to hear Duane's lead on the Dominos version of Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing".
 
I used to mostly listen to his solo stuff when I was younger, but I've grown to like his older stuff too recently.

I thought it was Jack Bruce singing that. Unless there's another falsetto part I'm forgetting about.

Guitar players tend to rate Layla and Beano as high water marks for Clapton. Any of the Cream albums are pretty good too. For me, Clapton's best years were mid 60's to early 70's.
 
One of my all time favorites. I love Cream.

My recommendation to you, I absolutely love his band Blind Faith, the entire single album they ever made is classic of classic. Highly recommended.
 
Eric Clapton is good. Unfortunately, most people recognize him for his solo work, not his roles in Cream and The Yardbirds. Listen to some original Cream. I also recommend "One More Car, One More Rider" and "Slowhand".
 
Cream's 1967 album "Wheels of Fire" has "Spoonful"; an example of Clapton's best guitar work (in my opinion).

just how i feel. i have his Unplugged album and i'll break it out once a year, if that, and enjoy it. but then... i can go Clapton-less and be fine.
