I have been using the Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 for the past couple years and found it to be one of the best keyboards I have used. Unfortunately I spilled watermelon juice inside and need a new one. I really can't go back to the regular keyboards as it's more stressful on the wrist. The 4000 is nice but it has things I don't need like zooming and the IntelliType software isn't that great. Regardless it was a good keyboard and am trying to find others to consider before I reorder it. The main features I need are a wrist rest, and some custom keys like volume control, and of course a curved key design.

Wondering if anyone has suggestions on ergonomic keyboards like this. Or if someone has owned a 4000 before but has switched to something else.

Based on layout and price performance I don't think anything else really compares to the ergo 4000, its a great keyboard and at 30 bucks for an OEM one I haven't found anything else thats comparable. (I have several for multiple PC's and 1 spare incase one wears out or fails :))

I don't really think you can do better than the 4000 at a moderate price (its what I'm typing on now, actually). I'm planning to upgrade to a Kenesis Maxim before too long....not pretty, not cheap, but its ergonomic and uses mechanical key switches.
