Eradicate front license plates

It will never happen, and most of those reasons are trivial at best. They want them on there so they have a flat, reflective surface for their fancy laser guns to lock on to.

you've got a point there...

Online petitions probably won't do jack. Let alone one that cites 'performance' as a reason. 😀 😉

I dread the day someone thinks of putting license plates in front of motorcycles. :Q 🙁

I like how they make the completely unsubstantiated claim that removing front license plates hasn't affected public safety in the other 20 states. I'm sure it hasn't, but I doubt they can back that up.

We have front plates in NJ and I really couldn't care less.

wow look at that someone who actually said it right.😀

i've been driving in ca for about a year now with no front plate, no problems yet.... though i do have a liscense plate in the car with the "it broke off, i'm waiting for new frame to come in at the dealership" ready...

They don't issue them for years in Alberta either. Cost saving measure, supposedly.

And they still use Radar, Laser and Photo Radar just as much as everyone else.

Can you put the front plate behind the windshield? When I drive to areas I know enforce the front plate laws, I put it in the lower right corner of the windshield.

What is it about having a front license plate that gets your panties in a bunch?

it sounds as if front license plates are a disease from the way you say to "erradicate" them; though im sure to some they are a disease.😉

1. It's ugly and reduces airflow to radiator.
2. I think redlight cams need to have the front plate.
3. In 4 years, I got a fixit ticket once that was $10. The front licence bracket costs $40 from stealership.

most cars made for the US have a license plate area built into the front end pannel, so it doesent reduce any airflow, if it did car companys woudl be mad about it as well

its not ugly its a damn car, they are all the same

sucks for you

if i have to put my front back on i will, it's not particularly a big deal, the petition seems silly...

when you get a fixit ticket, i hear they refund you the ticket once you prove in court that you've fixed the problem with your car (in CA)? is that true?

People who blow red lights more than once a year should have their license taken away, IMHO.

I would never live in a state that required them.

If they changed the law in CA to rear plate only they would simply install the systems they currently have in states with no front plate, which photographs the drivers face and the rear plate simultaneously on multiple cameras.

Let them keep the law then. I am still not putting that plate on. Enought of my taxes go to both local gov and Lockheed Martin, they don't need more of my money.
