Well, I'll keep my odd story short.

I have 2 sticks XMS3200 Corsair 512MB in a P4P800 mobo. Running fine. Then get no post. I remove 1 stick still nothing. I change the one for the other and bingo found I have a bad stick. That was yesterday. I then go today to try the other one again. Dual Channel...bingo it startsup no trouble. I run memtest86 for 13hours and it works fine...WTH!?
 
Might have been just a bit out of the socket, getting too much juice, a problem with the CMOS that while you unhooked the computer it reset everything...but if it works now, enjoy, if it fails again, then RMA!
 
yeah but it would seem that reseting cmos and removing battery for 10 minutes and trying it again and reseating it would fix...
