V tach is cardiac arrhythmia where the heart is beating too fast, think of a car with the accelerator jammed to the floor, you want to slow down the engine before you wreck something or wear out the engine (heart), intervention branches on whether the patient is stable or unstable.
De-fibrillation is used on ventricular fibrillation, one of the most common rhythms preceding sudden cardiac death.
O- is the universal donor, & blood it can be given in a trauma situation relatively safely. Still not a good idea though, much better to match the blood type... but if it's urgent as in a trauma setting 0- is acceptable. A unit of blood is ~300cc's
